My wife and I went for massages at the Surrey hotel and we stumbled upon Cafe Boulud. It was the best meal I've had in NYC in years. While expensive, pasta with black truffles, Dover sole, Branzino all amazing. Service was perfect and literally joy filled. Being a lifetime New Yorker i always have my list of "go to's" on... More

We had a nice lunch here with friends and had a good experience. We had 2 courses from their set menu that was good value, the beef tartar was excellent but the raviolis with squash were a disappointment. Our friends soup then bass looked very good but given the standard you'd normally get at Daniel Boulouds other outlets it should... More

I do not wish to boast about where I've been and eaten over my many years of business and pleasure travel, but would do so if I had to in order to underscore my appreciation of the meal my wife and I had at Cafe Boulud. You wander from restaurant door to hotel door all over looking for something that... More

This was our first visit and the restaurant did not disappoint. The menu was inspirational. The duck was just exquisite - best duck I have ever tasted. To be honest all dishes looked wonderful and the desserts were very nice. Service was attentive and friendly. They brought out one wrong main course but with swiftness and no fuss the correct... Superb in every way. Service, menu, ambiance...my husband and I went for a late lunch and were blown away. We did their price fixe menu (which was very reasonable) and recommend the croquetas & desserts, but all of it was impeccable--gotta try it!

Lunch today. Seared Foie Gras followed by Comte Ravioli. Both delicious but the Ravioli was truly lovely (sweet potato, black grapes, red walnuts- this description doesn't do it justice). Completed by Poire Belle Helene, a chocolate and pear confection which was not hard to consume at all. Thanks to their pastry chef 😀. To accompany this triumph I had a... More

This has been a very special restaurant for us, and we have taken friends and gone together at least 10 times in the past year or so -- we usually get Table 9, a two-top in the alcove there we can sit catty corner and see most of the beautiful room. Service was impeccable yesterday, albeit a little slower than... More

Description
CAFÉ BOULUD features a French-American menu inspired by Chef Daniel Boulud's four culinary muses: la tradition, classic French cuisine; la saison, seasonal delicacies; le potager, the vegetable garden; and le voyage, the flavors of world cuisines. In addition to dinner seven nights, we feature a $37 two-course prix-fixe lunch six days a week, and brunch on Sundays. The restaurant is both a neighborhood gem and a destination for food lovers in search of casually elegant dining. Two private dining rooms seating 18 guest each are available for your private entertaining needs, and may be combined to accommodate 40. The restaurant's adjacent BAR PLEIADES serves inventive cocktails and a luxurious bar menu from 3 pm onwards. DANIEL • DB Bistro Moderne •Boulud Sud• Bar Boulud • DBGB Kitchen & Bar

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
