When you are eating at restaurant on the Upper East side and its filled with locals it has to be good and is probably an NYC institution. This quaint brown stone has been converted in the quintessential small NYC restaurant. The tables are tight together...More

Locals spot for Italian. Pretty good, nice staff. By no means a special occasion place but solid and nice for daily dinner on UES. Would go back for sure and the prices are reasonable.

Entering, you are pleasantly greeted by the long-standing maitre d', I believe his name is Carmine, as if you were arriving at a friend's home. The warm and friendly atmosphere immediately turns the stress meter down the minute you are seated. Paneled walls are decorated...More

First came here 5 years ago. And each year there after multiple times. Loved the ambiance, a townhouse. Loved the service. David was the original maitre de and he was charming and welcoming, and the wait staff was professional, and fun. Loved the food, especially...More

When I made the reservation the person answering the phone was very friendly and assuring me that I didn't need to worry about a dress code. (we were stuck in NYC due to snowstorm and all flights were cancelled, so clothing was running out) When...More

What a sweet place this is, occupying a narrow brownstone with a cozy, warm and classic ambiance befitting the city. The staff and gentleman manager could not have been more gracious. The food is out of this world and priced quite reasonable for its quality...More

My parents have been going here for decades and always raved about their service and food. I have not been here since my elementary school days, and I frankly do not know why. I found their service to be friendly and attentive. I had there...More

Based on a review that I had seen in Forbes Magazine praising this 40 year old italian establishment, we made a reservation to eat there last Friday night. Arriving at 7:15 pm, we discovered that I had mistakenly made it for Saturday night but they...More

Sorry I do not recall if they did. If you have a dietary restriction you should call the restaurant directly. They seemed very accommodating if possible.

I would call the restaurant and talk to the owner to be on the safe side. He will probably prepare a special dish for you if you let him know when you will be dining there.
