A fantastic veggie restaurant slightly out of the centre. Fantastic menu with tasty unusual options which my carnivore friend really enjoyed. Will definitely return.

If you are a die hard carnivore you should still visit. The ambience is cosy but with a nice buzz. Staff were extremely helpful and genuinely interested in our dining experience. We stopped for a light lunch, so beware the portions are quite large! For 2 we had Vegan nachos to share followed by mushroom crepe and market lunch. The... More

Certainly my favourite and undoubtedly the best vegan food we had in NYC. Would strongly recommend, especially spaghetti with wheat balls .. also don't miss deserts here.

Good dinner and desert. This is on my short list for one of my favorite vegan restaurants! I would highly recommend and will absolutely go again.

The restaurant is cozy and clean, the waitress are so kind and the service is amazing. The food is delicious and the portions are pretty big (we were in two, and took one starter and two entrèes). We left very satisfied, probably the best vegan and vegetarian restaurant in Manhattan!

This is a cute (tiny), romantic (tiny) vegan joint that has an intriguing menu where you feel like ordering one of everything. There are some great elements in the dishes that arrive, and for the most part it's not too obviously vegan. The cost is pretty steep but maybe I'm not used to New York anymore. Despite the absence of... More

Wife wanted to try this restaurant as friends and reviews gave great recommendations. While not in the theater district, we decided to try it prior to going to a Broadway show. Arrived around 5.15 pm, but they only start seating at 5.30 pm. We did have a 5.45 reservation. Once they let people in, we were immediately seated. Service is... More

My boyfriend and I recently spent 5 days in New York for his 30th birthday present. Candle 79 we booked via to the trip after looking up good places to eat. The food was absolutely insane. We both shared the pad Thai starter and oh my - words cannot describe how good it tasted! My boyfriend had the avocado salad... More

I booked this restaurant as a treat for my mum - she's vegetarian and I wanted her to have a whole menu to choose from instead of just the couple of (usually rubbish) veggie options you get in most places. Me, my husband and my sister are all meat eaters (and I shall confess to not considering a meal a... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
