Before a show and after a later lunch, we were worried that we might end up with limited choices to make a lighter and tasty meal for the four of us, but were delighted to find tasty starters and small dishes. The Shrimp Saganaki and Grill Octopus were especially well prepared, the Lamb pie was fine and the Spanakopia was... More

Some of the best Greek food we've had in NYC. The prix fixe menu is excellent value. We had the generous beet salad, the grilled salmon on a bed of roasted eggplant, and the bougatsa for dessert (pastry filled with a warm custard) -- all delicious. One of us ordered a grilled fish with lemon and olive oil, also excellent... More

Outstanding and fun -- good Greek food with a variety of fresh seafood. Excellent service. For myself, the whole branzino, the grilled small octopus, the grilled sardines (half order) and the wild greens were all a delight! The whole fish comes with a nice sauce that includes a touch of mustard. Excellent Greek wine list, but perhaps too many choices.... More

This is a great place to go with a crowd and share lots of small plates. The food was uniformly delicious, and a real treat after a negative experience at an earlier version of this restaurant a decade ago. It's a bit upscale (white linens, etc.) for the genre, but the food is really good.

A welcome surprise! We hadn't been to Molyvos in a few years and decided to give it another try following a busy day in the City. There weren't many tables full since it was close to 10 pm, but we had made a reservation anyways. We had braised calamari as a starter, followed by seafood marinated souvlaki, moussaka and soft... I heard that this restaurant was very good and gave it a try. I can only record my experience. The atmosphere was very nice and the staff accommodating. I started with a lentil soup that was quite good. I asked the server about two meat dishes. I specified that it had to be tender due to a jaw problem. He... More

While it was very good, there was just something lacking that would kick it up a notch. The 3 spread appetizer was great, but the grilled octopus was was a bit rubbery although it tasted great. The Mousaka was very good too.

Perfect for a pre-concert dinner as it is steps away from Carnegie. The wait staff understand curtain time and will get you there on time. And the food is a far cut above the local neighborhood Greek. I usually go with the fish of the day and have never been disappointed. The wine list has a healthy amount of Greek... More

Just happened up on this wonderful restaurant. The food was exceptional and the service could not have been better. This is a Greek restaurant with a wide variety of delicious dishes. If you are in NYC on 7th Ave. , You must try this.

Inspired by the traditions and heritage of the Greek islands and mainland, Molyvos has been one of New York's most beloved Greek restaurants since its opening in 1997. Named after the seaside village on the Greek island of Lesvos where the Livanos family roots originate, Molyvos is known throughout Manhattan for its rustic Greek country cooking. Executive Chef Carlos Carreto takes diners on a Grecian culinary journey through a variety of mezedes and appetizers, as well as hyper-local specialty Greek cheese and honey, fresh fish, wild greens and savory pies - all accompanied by the largest all-Greek wine list in the U.S.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
