I have dined at Amarone a number of times over the years when visiting the city. I keep coming back because the food is always excellent and the prices are reasonable. The staff is also very welcoming and helpful. On this most recent visit i enjoyed the housemade gnocchi, while my wife indulged in the evening's special: Filet mignon with... More

I've dined at Amarone several times now, and have never been disappointed. Decor is simple but elegant. The space is not large, and is divided in half. If you are seeking a quiet, more intimate meal, ask for a table in the far dining room. The staff is professional and polite, and all components of service are well-coordinated. It is... More

Mrs East, Baby London and I visited this restaurant with my parents. We had a spectacular lunch. The menu has great variety and authentic food. It is not a tourist trap at all, and we highly recommend it Thanks to our concierge at the Doubletree Suites who recommended this fine establishment. Bon Appetito

The Italian restaurant we wanted to dine at had closed and the concierge at The Edidon Hotel suggested this place. We were able to get a table since it was so early. Otherwise highly suggested to get reservations. I was craving an authentic carbonara, but they did not have it on the menu. The staff stated it was no problem... More

It was a quick stop, during my first night in the city. Had pasta with shrimp and scallops, pasta was too much aldante style, for my taste. Service by the bartender Ivana was fast and amiable. Didn't make any reservation, was seated promptly. The restaurant is rather small, but cosy.

I really loved this restaurant. Our hotel recommended it; the service was great, and the food was very good. I liked the atmosphere. The restaurant is very small, which I liked. The portions were the right size.

I am so surprised at good reviews for this restaurant. We went at lunch time. Ordered Cesar salad mussels marinara and penne. Pasta. The penne pasta was just that with a few sliced carrots and peas!! The marinara was like some tomato soup thrown over it. But the worst of all was the mussels. To say they tasted like dishwater... More

This restaurant is located in hells kitchen or 9th avenue between 46th and 47th street, has a Mediterranean style with tables outside and a good atmosphere, the food is Italian not to heavy and a good price, is perfect for lunch dinner or have a night cap with friends and family, I went for dinner and I sit outside in... We were looking for a nice Italian restaurant with good food, good service and a quiet environment. We found all three at Amarone. The appetizers, main courses and desserts were all quite good and at reasonable prices. The wine list was a bit too rich for me but their house wines served us well. All in all, a very nice... More

Great value. Really nice neighborhood gem. Fabulous pastas and terrific service. My only suggestion is the Caesar salad was ordinary and they did not grate parmigiana cheese. Rather they sprinkled already grated cheese. But all around great value.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
