Popular restaurant in heart of Times Square this place is OK for a burger or salad before your Broadway show. Nothing special

We had a great dinner but if you are there in the winter don't sit in the bar area. It's at the front door and the cold air blows right in. The food and Service was GREAT

We went in on a Saturday night with 6 of us. We were walking around and forgot to make a reservation for dinner. They seated us right away around 6pm. Had a really server and the food was great. We had a couple of steaks and a chicken dish. Very reasonably priced I would give it $$$ at the most.... More

Popped in for a quick lunch to escape the crowds around Times Square and was pleasantly surprised. Though not for a family on a McDonalds budget the $75 dollar bill for a more up market lunch was very reasonable. Burgers are more than acceptable and the fish was delicious...

We went because we had a good discount coupon. Would never go again. Service was mediocre, no one paid attention to what we asked for we had to repeat ourselves over and over. Ordered a last round of drinks and were given check instead-decided to go have a drink elsewhere. No bread or water served with our meals. We ordered... More

A very pleasant watering hole we used prior to visiting the theatre opposite. Good cocktails supplied by a very capable barman.

The staff was very pleasant and service great. We ordered the conch chowder and it was delicious. I enjoyed the ratatouille blanco , actually the food was good. We enjoyed it. I disagree that it is a $$$$ as we didn't think it was expensive at all. Very satisfactory but service was spectacular

We were seeing Kinky Boots in the city and needed a spot to have lunch with the family before the show. This cafe confused me. Great staff, deceit prices, menu all over the board. Salads were heavy on some items, pasta salad was average, and minute steak was unseasoned. My fish and chips was pretty darn good, maybe snapper. But not... More

One of our regular pre-matinee lunch restaurants, this off-shoot of Joe Allen's has a diversified weekend brunch menu with good food and excellent service. A big plus is the lack of background noise such as there is at other great pre-matinee spots like Joe Allen's or Cafe Un Deux Trois.

I was seeing a show right by this restaurant and I had no reservation but they were able to seat me within 5 minutes. I was asked when I was seated if I needed to be out for a show, so they were efficient and very aware that most of their customers are under time constraints. The service was fantastic... More

Description
Angus' Cafe Bistro is a one hundred-sixty seat, full-service eatery located in the heart of New York City's bustling Times Square. Given its proximity to several Broadway theaters, the pre-show dinner seating is the restaurant's busiest, but before or after is the time to take advantage of the restaurant's charm for either a relaxing lunch or dinner without the pressure of an impending curtain. Additionally, the restaurant offers several attractive features including a bargain prix fixe lunch menu, an irresistible late night snack menu and the house specialty: a porterhouse steak for two which includes unlimited wine by the glass if you order it after 8pm. Brunch is served all weekend long and private parties/special events of all shapes and sizes are willingly and expertly accommodated.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
