We ate at Lindy's for breakfast on our first morning in New York. We hadn't really researched anywhere therefore just jumped in the first decent looking place we found. As it was on 5th avenue it was vastly overpriced which was a learning experience for us. We each had an omelette dish with a tea/coffee and it cost around $60... More

The cheesecake is good here, not as good as Juniors, but still, good. The service is very friendly and welcoming. They never charge fully for their drinks and service is prompt.

An average place. Like all NYC spots pricey for what you get. The triple decker sandwich was smaller compared to other delis and priced differently. The cheesecake was very good. Service was fair, kitchen hustling and busboys moving all over. Again it was just average.

I ordered the carrot cake thinking it was a cheese cake flavored carrot cake. It was not. It really was not the best carrot cake and very over priced for a diner cake. Little on the stale side.

We visited Lindy's after a show on Broadway as it was on the way back to our hotel. It was quiet when we arrived but many people did the same as us and the place soon filled up. I had a chicken sandwich and my daughter had fish and chips. The food was great but portions too big for us.... More

First, the cheesecake was excellent. The only reason we know that is because the kitchen messed up our order so the waitress have it to us on the house. The kids items were ok, but were priced as they were adult portions. The Ruben was lacking kraut and was too light on dressing, corn beef was ok, but altogether was... More

My friend wanted to go here for cheesecake based on someone's recommendations. The reviews online were low. Likely for good reason. We didn't end up eating here because my friend saw someone grab a quiche to serve with his hands. Can't speak to the food but we were turned off and left.

Lindy's is known for their famous Cheesecake ! And its one of the oldest cheesecake maker in town. The cheesecake was good. And they have several flavors too.

My 2nd visit here and although the cheesecake is very nice, it's very expensive. I've eaten a full meal here before and the shrimp although it's very nice it's also highly priced. But then again it's in a prime location so what do you expect. But if you like Oreo cheesecake then head to here it's to die for.

Loved the food and serving sizes. We were eating there the second time in three days. We got this waitress (had a Caribbean accent) who started fussing at us the moment we sat down and was impatient and short with us and the people on either side of us the entire time we were there. She didn't submit our order... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
