Authentic Irish Pub with all the trimmings - friendly barmaid, good prices and a small friendly crowd in a great atmosphere. Good place for a quick pick me up!

RESTAURANT'S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 13 February 2017 via mobile

My self and my family (one 11 year old, one 17 Year old) stumbled across this Pub one evening and we never looked back. The food here was the best home like dinner I had while staying in New York and we ate in the boat house resturant for Xmas day, they had nothing on the food served here. Cocktails... More

Dropped in with husband and daughter just to have a quick drink-- and we stayed for a long while! Great drinks (try the Dutch Mule) and conversation with the charismatic server/bartender Julia. Our new secret hangout in Midtown.

I had visited Oldcastle on a previous trip to New York so a return visit was on the cards. We visited a few times during our stay for food and just for drinks. Food was excellent and well cooked, my wife was in love with her pastrami sandwich! Service was always friendly and with a smile and nothing too much... More

Of course you would expect any Irish pub to be busy right after the parade on St. Patrick's Day in NYC! We walked in and it was standing room only, with Irish music playing and a great vibe. The hostess asked if we were eating, the key question. We said yes and she told us to go upstairs and ask... More

We stopped in for dinner on a Friday night, around 5:30 pm. Got a table right away. Only downfall, it was the last booth in the back near the bathrooms. Our server was OK. She may have been new, she had to refer to the menu to answer questions. Food came quickly and was good. I had the fish fry,... More

Thank you for your review. I'm glad you had a good time and I am sorry that your server was not as prompt as she should have been. We set high standards for our servers and expect that they have a full and comprehensive knowledge of the menu. It is always good to know first hand when there is something... More

A very busy place after work hours, but with good food at good prices, and friendly service. I stayed at the Hilton down the block and this was my go-to.

We stopped late evening for drinks and a nosh. Bartender was friendly and made a mean martini!! Can't really speak to food as we had standard bar fare. The place was busy and lively but not loud. Felt like a locals place.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
