This is one of the best business lunch meeting venues in midtown area so far. It is unusually spacious and quiet so that discussion carries on smoothly without worrying above t neighbors much. American twisted French is decent. Service is pleasant, too.

I was looking for a brunch buffet in midtown, saw Brasserie 8/2 and decided to give it a try. There were seven of us dining. The brunch was tasty and there were numerous choices suitable to a variety of dietary needs. In addition to the ready-made offerings, one can get omelettes and crepes made to order. I enjoyed a wonderful... More

We love this place- beautiful and comfortable setting; excellent service and food. Well worth the price. I had dined here before for a friend's special birthday. Decided to have a small celebratory anniversary dinner with two couple friends and thought of Brasserie 8 1/2. We were not disappointed. I especially like the round tables and subdued environment which makes for... More

I have enJOYed this epicurean delight several times over the past year, 2 Birthday Celebrations, a pre-Tony viewing meal and most recently a regalement of friendship. The service is always efficient yet a little slow as I tend to sit out of the main dinning room. However the reason I continue to return is because of the quality and variety... More

This is one of our favorite go-to restaurants for a special dinner before a concert at Carnegie Hall. And on this visit it didn't disappoint. The space is beautiful with huge flower arrangements and well-spaced tables and romantic booths.

I visited Brasserie 8 ½ recently for a group dinner. What an amazing French bistro! Elegant but cosy and with original artworks by some of the world’s greatest artists on the walls. Everything from the fresh bread to the cocktails were spot on. I had a classic French onion soup for starter, along with a few dishes shared at the... More

Went to this lovely restaurant with a couple of friends during restaurant week and we were thoroughly pleased. We tried a couple of dishes and it was hard to pick a favorite everything was delicious. The lobster risotto or the onion soup gratinee are perfect appetizers. As main course the steak frites with bearnaise, which I love or the Atlantic... More

This past week, a few friends and I dined at Brasserie 8 ½, a beautiful French restaurant, with exquisite art decorating the walls. A spiral staircase takes you down to the grand dining room. We ordered various appetizers and entrées to split amongst ourselves since none of us have been there before. We started with onion soup. I’d call it... More

It's just too big. Too empty. Not happening. As a meeting place it's handy. That's about it. I've been a number of times and it's just not happening. It's just too big for the crowd it pulls. Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
