The food here has a variety and at times a subtlety that makes it unique among New York Indian restaurants. The setting is gracious but low-key.

Every dish we enjoyed last evening was excellent. We don't eat very much but the chicken, naan, papadam and grilled veggies were just lovely. We rate Dawat as highly as any other Indian in the city and we've been to quite a few. As for...More

My husband & I visited Manhattan for our wedding anniversary. If you love exotic delicious Indian flavors, then Dawat is the place for you! Having eaten at many Indian restaurants across USA, finding Dawat quickly rose to be our #1 favorite!

Food, service and atmosphere are all really good at this midtown (east side) restaurant. They have vegetarian, chicken and seafood choices. All of it is well-prepared and politely and promptly served. This is nice and easy dining.

Convenient to our lodging just south of Central Park. Were greeted warmly upon arrival. Plenty of room and an airy feeling, despite garden level location. Enjoyed a wide range of Indian foods. Knowledgeable servers happy to answer questions. A variety of delicious chutneys.

Dawat is a fine north Indian restaurant that also serves a couple of south Indian dishes as well. Located in Midtown East, Dawat is one of Manhattan’s finest Indian restaurants that serves an eclectic array of interesting dishes.
