Dined At Tao in Midtown - reservation was 9.15pm but didn't get seated until after 10pm. Despite the wait, the food was delicious and our waiter really engaging. Food and drinks are expensive and the portions are large so don't over order.

This is a trendy restaurant close to Central Park and in high demand. If you don't mind sitting at the bar and it's early by all means don't make a reservation but if not then you have no choice. Great decor and atmosphere and great service at the bar we dined at.. the food was very very good. Whenever we... More

The worst experience we had in NYC. We have order a place in advance, however at our arrival no table was available for ~ 30 minutes. The attitude of the staff at the entrance was unfriendly. The noise was extremely load and we could not hear each other at the table. We wil never return.

I had one of the best steak of my life. Been there on a Friday night it was quiet but the place is very cozy and the food amazing. The wine list is good and covers all tastes.

Tao Las Vegas is one of my favorite places in the world. Tao New York (Uptown) is not. I mean, I would go back, many times, but it's not a five star experience. I have ordered a Vesper Martini at the bar. The bartender didn't know how to prepare it. I told him, but he didn't have lemons to make... More

It's such a great atmosphere and the food is great. This place is packed all the time and it's pricey but worth going on a date or with a bunch of friends!

My sister and I recent visited NYC aka our "Sex and the City trip" so we figured we had to come to TAO! The food was alright to us (we are Asian so we are a bit more picky). We enjoyed the place a lot though, especially the overall ambience and service were wonderful. The place got busier as the... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
