The menu is far reaching for someone who is not totally immersed in Indian cuisine. but anything ordered is a trip of colors, smells and tastes. I have returned here too many times to count, although they have moved to a new location on Second Ave. Service is very good, food prepared when ordered. Examples: naan, samosas, raita, curries, tandooris and... More

We have been eating at Haveli for over 20 years, and when the restaurant came under new ownership we did notice a difference. We were a little disappointed that things were different, though not necessarily worse. We went back again yesterday for dinner and were pleasantly surprised. We tried a few new dishes (the lamb dumpakht was new to us... More

My husband and I walked in without reservation on on the hottest day of the summer..The staff was very friendly and helpful. We are only slightly familiar with Indian food so we described which foods we had tried in the past and that we did not know the name of these dishes. Our waiter was able to help us with... More

Service is still great and they look after you but our four vegetarian and chicken dishes were very poor. If we hadn't been so British about it we would have sent it back!! It's sad as last time we went last year it was 4*. What's going on guys?

Haveli/Banjara is by far my favorite Indian restaurant in NYC. I've been going out for Indian in NY for years and Haveli is consistently great. The food is good (with vegan options), the service is excellent, there is a full bar (including Indian beer), and the interior is very pleasant and comfortable. Highly recommended.

Yummy food and good service best tandoori chicken I've eaten. The food was brought out about 15minutes after ordering and got a surprise mango ice cream dessert Prices are fairly decent about $15 a dish I'd come again.

If you're looking for indian food in Manhattan, this is the spot. Everything we had was amazing and the chef treated us with mango sorbet after we refused dessert because we were so full. That sorbet was blissful! Definitely coming back on my next trip to NY.

The best food. The best drinks. I've been going there since I discovered it, I think over 20 years ago. The prices are good. The service is excellent. The food is fabulous. Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
