We went here after a show for a happy hour. This is such a cute place with great atmosphere - definitely like a New England oyster bar but in the middle of the city. We loved the happy hour oysters and other happy hour small...More

Went for drinks and happy hour here. Excellent happy hour deal where oysters are only $1 each. Not the biggest oysters I have had but for $1 each, along with cheap and cheerful wine, what's not to like?

Happy hour is the way to go! $1 oysters! We had the clam chowdah. Bomb. Be aware, super mini but so good probably because it had bacon in it. Calamari was good but tasted too much like popcorn because it was super fried. I wanted...More

Went into this charming restaurant at the end of the summer for the first time...but probably not the last. Fresh oysters can be had at the bar along with other dishes and the main menu, while not extensive, has a good selection of mostly fish...More

Just great. Service extremely professional. Food wonderfully flavored and fresh. Oysters to die for. I would say perfect. And chocolate pudding for desert wow. Reasonably priced and great atmosphere.

We visited on the all night Monday Happy Hour primarily because of the $1 oysters. After 40 medium size briny oysters we still had room for 10 of the small clams. Wow! I wanted more, but there is more to Mermaid than just raw oysters...More

We made sure to be at the Mermaid Inn a few minutes before they opened at 5PM to get a table outside for happy hour. We enjoyed oysters, calamari, and wine. Really fresh seafood is a casual atmosphere. Who could ask for more? [The person...More

First of all, Mermaid Inn is on the *east* side of Manhattan, not the west side as mentioned in a previous review. One of our downtown kids lives nearby and I went along for an early dinner on a recent Thursday. The tables out front...More

There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village,
