This place was recommended by a friend, and I'm glad I took her up on it. It was pleasantly busy, with no need to queue, at about 11am on a sunny Sunday morning. There was a small queue by the time I left though. I had the haloumi eggs - just delicious - and fresh coffee. Highly recommend to others... More

The food was unbelievable. Prices reasonable. For a main each, bread and hummus, and one drink each we paid $35 + tip pp Wine by the glass options not anything memorable but I've had worse. Service was quick It's quite a simple, casual place.

We came at 10:30 which was a good thing as from 11 on there was a wait for a table. I had the dish with haloumi cheese which was quite good and my husband the brunch with eggs benedict and canadian bacon. It was quite good, even though to us canadian bacon is more like a thick slice of ham.

Great service, big portions, fresh vegetables and very nice atmosphere. Hummus was one of the best I've ever tried.

My dinner at The Mogador Cafe was truly great, the service was efficient and accurate, and the food was just excellent. I had a cauliflower dish with yogurt that was fresh and good, and a duck dish for main course which was so extremely good. Highly recommended.

Had a wonderful Eggs Benedict with Canadian bacon this morning. Even on a Saturday 10:30am we did get a table for 3 without a reservation. The place is quite popular, and thus might be really crowded. Despite the crowd staff is very helpful and nice. Would recommend and hopefully have soon the chance to come back.

We were in NYC and decided to try Mogador Cafe for brunch. We went without a reservation and waited about 20 minutes for a table for 2. Food was delicious and drinks were great too. There is a lot of noise with the hustle and bustle as this is a very popular place so if you are looking for a... More

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
