Ended up stopping in here randomly after walking past it many times. Really not a great experience. The service was mediocre, and the food about the same. Everything was ludicrously bland. Nice atmosphere to and obviously popular with locals. We had pork and beef enchiladas which were fantastically tender and tasty with rice, beans, salsa and sour cream. Looking around the restaurant, it... More

During an evening of thunderstorms in NYC we decided to go for a walk and grab some dinner... Under the safety of our trusty umbrella we walked the streets of NYC soaking up the ambience and were having a great time. We came across El Nuevo Amanecer, which was busy (as s seasoned traveller busy usually means good to me)... More

this place is, for lack of a better word, kinda gross. salsas were sad and the menu disturbing (baloney burritos?!). not recommended.

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighbourhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
