Take the subway to Harlem to experience another side of NYC. Full of soul and atmosphere. Be sure to eat at Sylvia's for authentic southern food. The wait can be long but the experience is worth it. The fried chicken is to die for. Great...More

Whilst on an Open Loop bus tour in 2016, the tour guy recommended this restaurant. On our return visit in 2017, we decided to visit Sylvia's and form our own opinion. We visited on a Sunday evening and probably waited 30 mins for a table....More

Patricia, it makes us so happy to hear a meal with us could remind you of a Sunday dinner at your grandmothers! Plus, it's great that Keith could help make you feel at home and that you enjoyed the bottomless mimosas. Looking forward to next...More

My daughter and I ate here the first night we were in NYC. Coming from the South, we have eaten a lot of soul food, fried chicken, corn bread, etc. The food was delicious; however, the prices were a bit higher than I expected. They...More

Went on a Sunday evening as aprt of a family holiday. The secret of Sylvia's is simple; the food is uncomplicated and unpretentious and the service attentive without ever being intrusive. We plumped for the rib and fried chicken combo accompanied by mash and collard...More

Not just great food, a great experience! Our first visit to a restaurant upon arrival in US. Food is quite different from anything I have had in Australia or elsewhere. Very reasonably priced, and staff were friendly and efficient. Recommended.

I could've done without eating or drinking here. It was nothing special and pretty basic. Amy Ruth's is probably better for the same price range but ultimately I would recommend spending a few more dollars to go to one of the other soul food places...More
