Was in Washington Heights for a event at Columbia. Got the famous (and best) arroz con pollo. It's freshly made per order with vegetables, chorizo and small pieces of chicken with bones. It was terrific.

Presidente Makes one of the most delicious Dominican Breakfast , the traditional Mangu which consists of Smashed Green Plantains, Fried Eggs, Cheese , and Salami on the side. This is only one their many exquisite dishes. The staff is always very helpful, when it gets busy the staff can get a bit overwhelmed but overall it's a very good restaurant... More

I have been going to this restaurant for more than a decade, why? because I like good dominican food, including juices like batida made with papaya and milk, love their coffee but particularly because I really enjoy their soups, which in my mind separated them from all the dominican restaurants in the neighborhood. However, last week I went with my... More

$3.99 will buy you a ham/cheese omelette, two slices of toast, home fries, coffee and OJ. A waitress will serve you, with a smile, and the food will just take a few minutes and arrive hot, freshly prepared. And it's completely delicious! I can't say anymore other than you should come here!

I've been coming here for over 20 years. Classic Dominican food - chicken and rice, tostones, tropical juices. The interior isn't fancy, and the staff usually moves at a relaxed Dominican pace. But the food is always solid, and the cafe con leche is to die for...

As soon as you arrive, you realize this will be good. Pitchers of various margs, loads of guacamole, lots of tacos and great friendly authentic service. Definitely go - need a reserve.

Recommended by a friend, but on the day we called in the regular chef must have had a day off. The only good thing about the dishes we ordered was the amount of food piled up on the plate. Service was minimal, and since our Spanish was non existent, we were rather disadvantaged in communicating with the waitresses who automatically... More

This is a no nonsense place with good little taco snacks and related stuff. Make a good Guacamole. Draft Mexican beer.

El Presidente is frequented by locals in Washington Heights in Upper Manhattan. It serves great Latino food, specializing in Dominican fare. Spanish is largely spoken here. Food is available for take out. The arroz con pollo is delicious and reasonably priced at > $14 for a dinner. There are lunch specials. It's convenient to Columbia's Children's Hospital.

This is a neighborhood restaurant in the heart of Washington Heights, across from Columbia Children's Hospital. They specialize in Latin food. Whenever I'm in the neighborhood, I get their arroz con pollo. It is so flavorful and absolutely delicious. They have a broad menu. The place is very busy with neighborhood residents at lunch and dinner. Service is fair. Spanish... More
