This was our first meal in NY city and it set the scene for the rest of our stay. On local advice, we had to try the crab and saffron risotto, it was out of this world, delicate and cooked to perfection. Our choice of pasta was an Italian sausage, spinach and ricotta ravioli served in a tomato sauce, sublime.... More

Since our favorite Italian restaurant closed in the Theatre District, we have been searching for a replacement. It has been found. This lovely, little cozy restaurant made us feel like we were back in Italy. Every bite of food was delicious. They do offer a Fixed Price 3 course dinner for $45 which three of us selected. Food was served... More

Called ahead for a party of 8, and we were given a table away from the center of things. That suited our group perfectly. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes. I had the evening's grilled shrimp risotto special that was wonderful! Tables were set with white linens and arranged loosely (even in little alcoves) to offer privacy.... More

Hotel staff recommended Nocello for dinner. Within walking distance from Park Central Hotel where we were staying. Lovely dinner after long day of sightseeing. Food was excellent. Make sure you have the burrata salad and hazelnut gelato. Yum. wait staff attentive without being invasive. Highly recommend.

We had a 100% terrific experience here. I made a reservation before we left home in NJ but, as can often be the case, we were seriously delayed by traffic. When I called and let them know we were running late, we were assured that they would hold our table. We ended up being 1/2 hour late and the table... More

Italian restaurant that is family owned and run. Excellent menu. We had baby lamp chops and a seafood pasta dish for entrees. Excellent service and the Novello liqueur is to die for.

We were expecting great things from Nocello, especially as the ambience was terrific... But the service was mediocre, distracted even and the food while good, or even very good, had a distraction the sin of having portions on the small side. Indeed if it were not having a pasta dish (shared) as an appetizer, we would have left a bit... More

This place was first recommended to us when we asked a concierge for a nearby restaurant that would be quiet enough to converse with people during dinner (as opposed to most other restaurants that insist on playing music so loudly that conversation is nearly impossible). As promised, this place allowed us to hear everyone clearly around a round table of... More

It's very difficult to find restaurants that aren't tourist traps or chain type in the Tomes Square area. This little Italian place was refreshing. Spent the evening with my parents and husbands boss and wife before going to see Miss Saigon and it was perfect for all. My mother is very picky and she ate her entire meal (she had... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
