I've been coming to place for about 8 years now and I love it each time. The thingt hat keeps me coming back is there Sangria! It packs a punch man. It's a typical tapas place but they have more substantial stuff on the menu. The roasted pork shank was amazing. If you go during peak times it's super loud... More

Went for Brunch and had a great meal. On Tuesday they have a special called "Loco Tuesday" where they 1/2 price their Tapas on back of Menu. I, of course, took advantage and was not disappointed.

What a fun brunch menu, among the varied brunch places on the lower east side of Manhattan. Met up with a group of girlfriends and besides the fantastic strong coffee we enjoyed a nice varied and fun menu. Brunch consists of unlimited coffee and tea and a choice of 10 dishes. Our group had arepas benedict with cilantro hollandaise, huevos... More

I ate like nth here with my son who has just moved to nyc a couple of blocks away. After a morning of unpacking we found this place and took a table outside. It was Tuesday, there is a local 1/2 off tapas plates special on Tuesdays. Service was prompt, not pushy and mistake free. The food was better than... More

The reviews seemed great, but a bit misleading. The drinks were too strong and lack flavor. I ordered a sangria that tasted like pure alcohol. I ordered the "carnitas" plate. The meat was not the quality I was expecting. The chicken was spicy and so was the sausage. For someone who dislikes spicy this was not a plus. Would have... More

My boyfriend scheduled a night in NYC because I sooooooo wanted to visit before my vacation was over...so off we went. However, before going to the show I told him I wanted to see the place he always raved about and that no other can come close to the way they make Caipirinhas - The Yuca Bar!. Needless to say... I was staying nearby and on my own so stopped in for a drink. Had a great conversation with Sira at the bar and then various people who came up to the bar. Some how the friendly atmosphere just made for an ease in talking to other people. I liked it so much that I returned the next day and... More

Let me start by saying... Happy hour 1pm-8pm!! All their drinks are amazing! I loved the coconut mojito and also the sangria, the margaritas are also great!!! They have some great appetizers that go well with the drinks. You can definitely have a great time and have amazing food and drinks for a very affordable price

A place to visit on the Lower East side is the Yuca Bar. The Latino atmosphere and especially the food is great! You absolutely have to try the delicious huevos rancheros, they are amazing. Eat outside and you can enjoy the vibrant street life of the East side while enjoying your food.

I made the mistake of getting bland pancakes, with bananas. It was advertised as pancakes with “tropical fruit” but the fruit was only a bunch of grapes and about two slices of banana and three slices of strawberries. I like my pancakes sweet, with lots of fruit, and whipped cream, but this only had some maple syrup. Not worth it.... More

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
