The pre-fixe menus are a bargain. Had both dinner and brunch here. The food is good; I enjoyed one of the best onion soups I have ever had. The Croque Monsieur was delicious, the accompanying salad and pommes frites excellent. Only criticism is the house white wine; not sure if going for the extra dollar for the unnamed Chardonnay would... More

Great little spot in Midtown, but my meal there this week was pretty average compared to previous visits. I typically order one of the salads. Still a decent value for the price, but average.

It can be hard to get a good dinner before going to a play. While this restaurant is a little far from most of the theaters, it is close enough to the upper broadway venues like the Wintergarden. And you can count on a good, interesting meal served promptly. I can heartily recommend the lamb burger. The soups are always... More

Nothing that special here, but it was convenient to our hotel and we were in a bit of a rush to have a light something before a matinee. The onion soup was quite good, came with a nice little salad and a not-so-great glass of house wine (shouldn't complain for the price). We told our server we were pressed for... More

Back in the 60.s when I was in high school, my French teacher took us to "La Crepe" which is now La Bonne Soupe. L.B.S. serves a varied menu including crepes The crepes are the soft kind. Le Crepe had the hard crepes which are much better. The rest of the menu is O.K. Go for lunch only.

We four began with a charcuterie plate, then French onion soup, and then four different mains. All delicious. No room for desserts!! Could have been in Paris....

First, the waiter didn't understand my english and I couldn't possibly understand his. Second, 3 waitress looked at us finishing our food so we will go away already. That wasn't nice. Let me finish my burger please! The duck was hard as a shoe and we gave it back to the kitchen.

La Bonne is well located and serves great lunches. Soups are terrific and the "French" hamburger and fries are to die for.
