We stumbled upon Amy Ruth's and were pleasantly surprised. Seated quickly and they made room for our luggage. The service was good, but don't expect quick, the food will be fresh though. The fried catfish sandwich was tasty, but plain. Same with the burger. Just...More

Excellent food, even better service. My wife knows fried chicken and their fried chicken is some the best she has ever had. The black eyed peas were awesome as well.

The food was great! I loved the fact that items on the menu were named after African American celebrities. Just added a tad more cache to already good food and the ambiance of the atmosphere. The restaurant just seemed to quintessential Harlem.

This was this restaurants take on southern cuisine, not bad for the City but I'm a country boy so I was not impressed. Service was fast and was a good experience.

As a hub of African American culture, Harlem has
played a vital role in the history of New York City.
Today, the neighbourhood is as vibrant as ever as new
businesses and developments go up next to local
institutions. The heart of the neighbourhood is
bustling 125th Street, where street vendors and
historic landmarks like the Apollo Theater mingle with
big-name stores. Turn down almost any corner, and

If you have a large group, you want to call ahead to see if they can accommodate you. You might find yourself standing outside for a while.
