After being treated shabbily at Carmine's, we headed over to Latanzi's on Theater Row. They do Italian right! Pasta perfectly Al dente... A lamb shank to die for... Nice and crispy cannoli shells. Attentive staff. It all comes at a price, but it's worth it...in spite of being out of the wine I had requested! In the words of the... More

Lattanzi has great atmosphere and the food was delicious. The appetizer we had was a little pricey, eggplant rollitini at $17 but it was good. Drinks were great and service was very good.

Very impressed with Lattanzi Ristorante as they have a nice Italian selection of foods including seafood dishes and steak as well. Their salads are wonderful as starters and they offer original dishes such as asparagus gnocchi. The chicken parm was outstanding and the atmosphere is neat as you are inside an old brick building that makes you feel as if... More

Ate here on a rainy Saturday night before a show on Broadway. Wow--It was phenomenal. Had a breaded veal chop over salad that was unbelievably delicious. Then dessert--cannoli and creme brûlée. Excellent service (although true to New York, not friendly or warm)--but maybe they don't speak much English? But I'd definitely go back!

My wife and I both enjoyed our main courses, she had the artichoke gnocchi and I had the fettuccine ragu. Service was okay, but could have been more attentive, I had to ask twice for a second glass of a very nice Sangiovese. Desserts were nice too. Prices were higher than I would normally pay for this quality Italian in... More

Despite a great position, a nice atmosphere and a cheap menu; the restaurant is I would like bit I cannot. Food is good but service is a bit weird. To be used when the dinner shall be fast and easy.

I cannot convey the richness and warmth of this place. Elegant and subdued, but there was a sense of vibrancy surrounding us. The food was utterly beautiful in presentation and the tastes were superb. I had a tuna carpaccio, by far the best I have ever had.

Lattanzi is unusual in that it prepares cuisine to commemorate the Jewish holiday of Passover with a menu that is reflective of what would have been served in Italy for countless generations of diners.... truly a rarity for a New York restaurant. We also have gone there for a regular Italian dinner and the food was equally delicious. The lamb... More

Last year (2016) was my first visit to Lattanzi. A very good lunch with polite and efficient service. A very good option for lunch. Have not been for dinner however, look forward to returning. Lunch or dinner!

My wife and I joined another couple for a wonderful meal before we headed off to see the Billy Joel concert. The home made gnocchi were beyond delicious. The deserts were fresh and light. This will become my go-to Italian restaurant whenever I am staying in New York.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
