Consistently top quality baked roast pork buns, cheong fun, and other familiar Cantonese snacks. Still my favorite for NY Chinatown - although the waiting can be irksome at times. I've been a fan since they were at 21 Mott for decades - they go through an amazing number of take out items daily.

Had dinner with 7 Chinese friends who are either from, live in and/or work in Chinatown. They picked the place and selected the dishes!! Fantastic!!! And the bill with tip was about $120 for all of us!!!

Authentic Chinatown coffee shop. Best of a dwindling few. I always get dozens of my favorites to bring home. Highly recommended. Great value.

It's one of the sketchy Chinese place I have ate in my life The chicken fried rice was horrible , the spring roll was soaked in oil and the fried shrimp ball was something suspicious Overall the quality and taste was below par

The dim sum at Hop Shing is among the best, not just locally but globally. My business travel has allowed to sample dim sum at top restaurants in Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai, London, San Francisco and LA. Hop Shing remains a favorite. It's offerings are narrower than at other dim sum joints, but the quality of what they do offer is... More

Went for dinner and were pleasantly surprised with great food. The staff is not great with English but they can get what you want. The prices were great and the Resturant was clean and fun.

I did a walking tour through Chinatown and finished near Hop Shing. I went in and there were only locals there, which is usually a good sign. The food was good quality, fresh and great value. The decor was old and tired and the service was poor, but then you don't go to Dim Sum for the service or the... More

Looking for a cheap dumpling and Dim Sum, this is the place to go. Every Dim Sum plate is just $2.15, 3 or 4 pieces on most. Crowded, mostly Asians frequent this place been there 50-60 times

If you are looking for some veggie food, wrong place. We have ordered Tofu with Chinese Vegetables dish, believe me it was nasty. Kung pau chicken was bit better but not awesome. They didn't accept credit card. 20% gratuity is mandatory, which was not mentioned on bill, no matter you like food or not and waiters are cooperating or not.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Bursting with an amazing array of sights, sounds, and smells on every block, a visit to Chinatown feels like entering a different world. It’s a colorful spectacle that gets even more crowded on weekends, when families stream in to enjoy huge dim sum feasts and to stock up at the markets on Mott Street. To take a break from the buzz, grab something sweet from one of the many bakeries in the area and head to Columbus Park, where many Chinatown residents exercise, play games, and chat the day away.
