A max of 8 seater restaurant not fancy at all. The food was amazing it's a family run restaurant and I could see mama in the kitchen cooking. My stir fried beef with onions, basil, sweet pepper and carrots were extremely good.

I've only had the pad thai here but they make it just like it's made in Thailand, and the only place I've really found that doesn't Americanize the dish (adding whatever it is that makes pad thai reddish). This is my favorite pad thai place in the city. The place is small and only fits about 10 people, but the... More

I have been going here for over 20 years. Best takeout Thai ever. (You can eat in, but it's extremely tiny and crowded.) Everything is exceptional, there are no duds. Faves: red and green curries (esp green with beef and eggplants, pad mee kew, chicken wings stuffed with mushrooms, larb, tom peek gai, any steak or duck dish. This place... More

Just ate dinner here tonight - lovely little place! They only have 4 tables and it is tiny, but the food is excellent and very reasonably priced! We had the chicken sate to start and shared a yellow curry with steamed rice for our main and the flavour was great. We asked for it not to be spicy but it... More

Don't be fool for a minute by the appearance! We have cars longer than this place is wide, but baBAM! four tables, cash only, family run and the BEST Thai that we've had in years. Seriously, I can still taste that pad thai.....

They mainly do takeaway with 3 small tables - they don't mind if you bring your own beer as they don't sell any alcohol Two of us had a pork larb and a beef salad plus rice for $26 - both dishes had enough spice to be interesting without blunting the lovely fresh taste of the salad and herbs Recommend

EV Thai is a great Thai restaurant that hits all the right notes. The service is extremely pleasant, the food is absolutely delicious and the prices are super reasonable. I like spicy food and often have to ask for restaurants to make my dishes spicier than they normally do, but not at EV Thai. They spice their dishes wonderfully. Delicious.

Nestled in a low-rent store front, East Village Thai serves tasty dishes at excellent prices. Delivery is fast, the food still hot and flavorful when it gets to you. There are a couple of tables in the restaurant itself, on a quiet street off 2nd Avenue, and there's usually a couple of people sitting at them. The place is completely... More

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
