This place is great. Old school charm? It's got it. Friendly staff? They work here. Good food? You bet your bottom dollar. Good drinks? Affirmative. This is a great place for any occasion. Big party? Back room. Date, hang out at the bar. Is there anything wrong with it? Cash only. That bugs me. But otherwise shut up, it's great.

Nobody minds queueing in a busy bustling bistro when everybody knows the burgers are so good. Crowded vibrant atmosphere full of young New Yorkers and good value for this city.

A good burger but not exceptional and not the best ive ever had. Maybe it had been built up too much.Service was good if simple as is setup and menu.

We popped in for a spot of lunch and had burger & fries plus a couple of beers. All excellent, highly recommend.

The burgers and fries are great. The place is small and you run the risk of having to wait but it is worth it.

Dreadful. Ordered grilled cheese that came with only American cheese, which was not melted. Sent it back and it arrived nuked. No coffee. The gracious server said he would make a fresh pot. It was flavorless. Limited menu. Burgers, grilled cheese, blt, chili, grilled chicken sandwich. A bar. A joke.

Came in there for lunch solo on a Monday afternoon. The place was not busy, but the reviews were pretty good so I decided to have lunch and kill some time before I went to the airport. It took the "server" like 5 minutes to even come up to me. I actually had to wave him down to give him... More

Popped in here for a quick burger with a colleague. Very basic menu but has everything that you need. They also have a few beers on tap so is a great place to pop into for a beer and a burger. I had the "Corner Bistro" burger which had cheese, tomato and bacon. The burger itself was great, cooked to... More

Cash only, no sweat. I always stop by the Bistro for their classic Bistro Burger anytime I come to NYC. Very cool corner joint, great service, will be back again.

Reading the reviews we headed over on the Friday night but absolutely packed. Retried on Sunday pm and loads of space so could sit at the bar. I had the bistroburger which actually arrived as a cheeseburger. Hubby had the chilli burger. Not sure whether we got them on a bad day but the burgers were really quite bland.Nice and... More

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
