I really wanted to like this place, just around the corner from where I live and reviewed as basic old fashioned Italian. But no, it was nothing to rave about and a lot to complain about. To start, the bread brought to the table was fair to poor, a bad sign. My husband and I split a salad, not so... More

My wife ordered salmon and it was not fresh. It was replaced with sole, which was also not fresh. We asked to speak to the manager, who was not in the restaurant. We left our phone number, but never received a call back. Approximately 1 hour after eating at Trattoria Alba, my wife experienced severe abdominal pain, followed by explosive... More

Looking for a nice restaurant nearby our hotel, we saw this cozy looking Italian restaurant. The day before we've had a fantastic meal in a Mexican restaurant, so some Italian food for a change was welcome. We both ordered a different pasta meal and it was the most flavorless pasta we've ever had, it looked like pasta with gravy and... More

We decided to try this restaurant because we were visiting our son in the area, and we are very glad we did. Most of the customers seemed to be repeat visitors. Every dish from salad to pasta to meat entree was quite tasty and the portions were generous. Wine by the glass was good table wine, reasonably priced. The service... More

The restaurant was recommended by friends who live in the area and they knew what they were talking about. It was charming with prompt and friendly service and outstanding food. We would definitely return.

In NYC it is really easy to find a restaurant. When downtown, "Little Italy" on Mulberry St has great Italian restaurants. When midtown, this is the place to go. My family, friends and I have been frequenting Trattoria Alba for at least 15 years. For many years our friends, spouse and self (five couples) have had our annual Christmas dinner... More

Authentic Italian at a price comparable to olive garden! We are so happy we stumbled upon this gem in the city. Homemade noodles and delicious wine. We will definitely go back on our next visit!

We came here on a recommendation from a long-time regular diner. Reservation for 5:30 post Broadway play. The food is seriously good. Ample portions and good value on the pricing. front room was filled by 7pm - most patrons seemed to be repeat visitors. Did not see a lot of table turn over during our stay - so a leisurely... More

We took my wife's girlfriend out for her 70th and she suggested this restaurant. The place is comfortably small, has white tablecloths and pleasant decor which often indicates some heafty prices but the entre prices here were suprisingly reasonable. Those we ordered ran from $28 (the fish special) to $19 for a sauteed veal dish. All the food was great.... More

I moved from NYC years ago, but stay often in a family pied a terre in Murray Hill. There is a good collection of restaurants in the area, but, on each trip, my first night back takes me to Trattoria Alba. Above all, the food is authentic, the menu varied and there are always interesting specials. The staff is very... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
