While in NYC on business, I had dinner and lunch a Ben's on two separate days. I had the same thing on both occasions - the open-faced pastrami and corned beef combo. Because when you go to the deli, you order deli and don't mess around. It was pretty great both times, but the service wasn't the best the second... More

More familiar with Greenvale and Bayside restaurants; NYC prices are a little higher. Food is the same: good soups, corned beef, pastrami, chopped liver. They overcharge for beer, but will constantly refill soda. Excellent french fries, others like apple strudel. Pretty good service. You can earn points toward a free sandwich or some other bonus.

"Comfort food-kosher style"...friendly, fast service surrounded by warmth of others. Thick sandwichs, hot dinner, pickles and coleslaw served to each table.

Nice deli experience. Soups were tasty; pastrami very good. Went with the extra lean for a few cents more. Pickles were sweet and sour; not our favorites. Definitely would recommend and/or go back again.

I have been visiting NYC on a regular basis since 2004. I stumbled upon Ben's by accident and I went in to get something to eat. The food was excellent and I have been going ever since. I can not go to NYC without going to Ben's. Counting down the days until my next visit to NYC and also Ben's

We were going to MSG for an event and after having a nice experience at Ben's last year, we decided to go again. After all, it's a casual deli with fast service, right? We arrived at 6:15; our game at MSG (4 blocks away) was at 8:00. We had a party of 6 adults and 10 kids. The first inkling... More

It was my first trip to NYC and I wanted to try matzo ball soup from a real kosher deli. While walking back to our hotel from the Empire State Building we noticed Ben's Kosher Deli and decided to give it a try. I got a bowl of matzo ball soup to go (because we had theatre tickets and wanted... More

We booked to spend a few days in NYC, & on the recommendation of the travel agent, made sure that we made time to visit Ben's. On arrival we were quickly seated in the most wonderful eatery, the fixtures & fittings evocative of the 1930's. Our server - James - who was fantastic, explained the dishes on the menu and... More

Ben's is always a good experience. If you want, you can get in and out quickly. Food is authentic NY and is very good. Price is reasonable for NY.

I just love this place from the moment you walk in the smell reminds me of my youth at Blooms in London's Whitechapel a miserable waiter gives you a menu and the choices are sublime. Then it arrives the finest coleslaw in the world ( no ones giving the recipe away only to say its marinated for 24hrs) when the... More

Description
To some, delicatessen is something you put between two slices of bread. To me, it's a calling. I am committed to preserving the traditional cuisine of my Eastern European heritage, amidst all that's required to operate a modern restaurant. This is our pledge, from the Ben's family to you: Fresh food, freshly prepared and courteously served in a clean, well-maintained restaurant faithfully observing the Kosher dietary laws. I urge you to bring anything less to my personal attention by calling 1-888-344-BENS or filling out my "Ask Ronnie" form and submitting it with your questions or comments. Your complete satisfaction is our goal. Any concerns will receive my prompt attention. - Ronnie Dragoon - Owner.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
