I am visiting a friend of mine in Lexington, and she took me to this store! Very unique, with lots of variety! It's a great place to visit with the kids.

We had sliders and cokes which they mix by hand the old fashioned way using seltzers. Really cool old fashioned place on Lexington Ave. Nice staff, definitely worth a visit. They have loads of old coke bottles in the windows which are interesting to look at

Fabulous old fashioned local diner. Fast service, extremely friendly staff and one of the best breakfasts I've had. All at a reasonable price.

Walking in felt like we time traveled to another age. We sat down and were served by a friendly server. We had orange juice which felt fresh and home made. Then came the burgers. The butter burger to which I added mushrooms was probably the best burger I've had ever. Coupled with a side of pickles and fries it made... More

This lunch counter is very consistent with the quantity and quality of food. They do not have a fryer but their convection air fryer is just as effective for fries and onion rings. As always, there's a soda jerk on staff to make the beverages from scratch.

We had researched this place as we wanted to experience a real American Diner. We were very disappointed. The soda was expensive and completely flat. The cinnamon toast was over toasted and had a strange sugary paste in it. The coffee was awful. The waitress was lovely but completely rushed off her feet as she was the only person serving.... We come here often and the food here is all really good. And the Milkshakes and Lemonades are great! But the coffee (which no one seems to mention) is terrific! It's consistently one of the best cups I've ever had. We love it here.

I liked the authentic atmosphere, beautiful floors, original barstools, bar and equipment. But I did not care for my dining experience at all - both the food and the service seemed to be far below par. Other diners (on Tripadvisor) that went here before me, seemed to have had a better time than we did, so maybe it was just... More

Was looking for breakfast that wasn't a bagel or a donut and we live diners. We happened upon this gem and were not disappointed. It's a step back in time with wonderful, simple food and a real feel for the city. Will be back!

It seems we were lead astray by a "must see" in New York City article online, as we did not find much to appreciate on our visit to Lexington Candy Shop. The object of our downfall was none other than the egg cream. Thankfully, we only ordered a small, but the drink we received tasted heavily of cocoa powder, as... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
