I've eaten at Via Italia twice in the past two weeks, while in NYC on business and staying at the Cambria hotel & suites across the street. I so wanted to be impressed by Via Italia but the truth is that the menu is routine, the specials weren't too appealing, the food quality was average, and service was....average. The owner... More

This was my first time eating here. I had Fettuccini Carbonara and a couple of drinks. The food was great, and ample portions. The server was friendly and very attentive. Great bread & butter also! The only thing that bothered me was that not only a service charge was added to my bill, but so was a non-optional tip of... More

Looking for a good Italian place to have dinner we found this place and we ended the evening with sour taste. To begin with the waiter was VERY pushy and he seems no to like the fact we ordered only two main courses and a soup. I.e. no drinks, etc. The soup was good but the main dishes were mediocre... This is just a great location...but quite pricey and neither food nor service meet expectations. The host (elderly gentleman) is quite good however. But after being seated...we tried for 15 minutes to get a cup of coffee, asking about 4 different persons...can't even remember if we got it. Overall...not worth the price.

Service was slow, table was near the door and staff kept holding it open for customers who were not coming in, food was tasteless and mediocre. Definitely won't be back there

Stumbled across Via Italia, and after having a quick look at the menu went in and were promptly sat down. Service was terrible, a different waiter came to our table every time, and at least three times a waiter walked off while we were talking to them! Meals arrived fast, my friend enjoyed her meal, but mine started off ok... More

We went on Christmas Eve with a party of 8. They seated us right away, which was nice. We waited over an hour for our food, when a table that was sat way after us got their food the same time as us. The food was obviously frozen not fresh, and the sauce tasted like it was from a jar.... More

Ordered minestrone soup which was bland. Chicken was tasteless. House wine, yuck. Overall, over priced. Service was fare. Keep walking. Enough said.

Amazing food and quant location. Quiet and great service! Will be back when in New York. Lasagna and fettuccini was made with homemade pasta and you could taste it.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
