Way overpriced and service was terrible. I agree with other reviewers that this is a tourist stop and not a true representation of the fabulous places in NYC that offer excellent meals at comparable if not lower prices.

Place was a mess, meat in open containers on the floor next to the bar, restrooms hadn't been cleaned even though we must have been about the first guests that morning, breakfast was served cold (sunny side up eggs) for almost twice the price we payed the day before - not even 10 minutes walk away.

If it were not for tourists this place would cease to exist. The food was just horrible... obviously warmed up because it was cooked hours ( or days) before. The soup was a bowl of salt. As a long time New Yorker I just had to give it a try and I am sorry I did. Terrible overpriced bad food..... More

Shouldn't be a surprise, it looks like and is a tourist haunt, I'm sure locals wouldn't eat here but walked 3 or 4 blocks in the area and just gave up. Ordinary food, a hot chocolate with more cream than is good for your health and expensive.

We went here for breakfast and it turns out it was a mistake. The staff weren't interested, the food was lukewarm and it cost nearly $40 for corn beef hash and a bagel. Coffee machine not working. Based on our experience we would not recommend going to this place.

Went here for breakfast, as it had the typical American Diner feel about it. The place is clean and well set out, booth type seating etc. Our meet and greet lady seemed really miserable, very matter of fact and no pleasantries. Our waiter was courteous and efficient although very slow with coffee re-fills. $150 did not represent any value for... More

Probably our favorite place during our visit. Waitstaff were fun. First we stopped for a late-night cheesecake then came back two other times for breakfast and brunch. Each time, the food was great and the service even better. Our group had breakfast and lunch fare and it was all great. Cheesecake was AWESOME!

Went to Lindy's at lunchtime, but decided to have breakfast items. The blintzes were not very flavorful. We prefer a little sugar and cinnamon in our blintzes. The other item ordered was lox, onion, and egg. It was served luke warm rather than hot . Kitchen could have been a bit smoother in operation.

My daughter and I had brunch in Lindys, food was quite nice and freshly cooked but the toilets were so awful that it did put me off. We had Quesada's and soft drinks and this came to over 40 dollars which I think is expensive

Lindy's is now part of a group with several different kinds of restaurants. The food is just so-so at best, and overpriced for what you get. They have a great location and they have name recognition. But you can get better food and value about anywhere else.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
