I first ate here 30 years ago and it still provides great dirty martini's, great service and not surprisingly great steaks. Well worth a visit - a New York experience.

It seems that S&W has lost its edge among fine New York City steakhouses. The steaks are still good, but that's about it. The sides were mediocre. Desserts come in huge portions, but they are not as savory as expected. Disappointed with the service.

I was very disappointed with this restaurant. Completely over priced for the food you get. The steak was excellent quality, but lacked all flavor. A little salt and pepper could go a long way. For 2 people with only 1 alcoholic beverage was $219 with...More

My girlfriend took me to NYC for my 40th in January, 2017. I had researched steakhouse in the area and of the 3 'finalists' I settled on Smith and Wollenskys. Now, let me get this out the way before anything else. I have absolutely NO...More

I had dinner at this very famous place to try its meat courses and I wasn't disappointed. I had the Filet Mignon, which was cooked perfectly, and the mashed potatoes that accompanied it were tasty as well. For dessert, I chose the warm apple tart...More

Steak houses aren't, by nature, our thing. However, my wife and I had not eaten and it was 9:30. The steak was o.k., the rest what you expect unnecessarily large portions with too much flame applied and greasy. We had the steaks (her son's and...More

I was fortunate enough to have recently been invited by my cousin to join him (and others) for dinner. From the moment we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted with smiles and were immediately shown to our table. Danny, our server, was extremely friendly...More

One of America's most successful restaurants, this New York steakhouse opened in 1977 and has been a hit ever since.

It is one of the most trafficked restaurants in New York City and among the most celebrated steakhouses in the world. Specializing in fresh seafood and lobster and assorted steaks and chops, Smith & Wollensky is well recognized for its healthy portions, seasoned service staff and pop Americana ambience.

The painted wood exterior is dark forest green trim on sparkling white, with latticework trim. The elegant interior has turn-of-the-century appeal and design elements including shining brass, dark wood accents and polished wood floors.

Adjacent to Smith & Wollensky's is Wollensky's Grill. The Grill (entrance on 49th St) is open from 11:30AM till 2:00AM but does not accept reservations.
