Took my wife as one of her "gifts " to Russian Tea Room for regular tea. Interior was spectacular. The gold guild and red beautiful. Service was grand. A Russian standby for sugar was red cherries. Lesson learned. Fun to be treated so well. I see why diplomats and businessmen of great worth were seen there doing business of the... More

The Russian Tea Room is truly a slice of excellence and elegance in mid-town Manhattan. The service and ambiance is extraordinary and something out of the past. We only were there for tea and dessert, but enjoyed the experience thoroughly.

Was curious about this place, decided to stop in with my mom while she was in town. It was a great rest from the freezing city. We ordered a pot of tea and an amaretto. The ambiance is awesome, it was super quiet, waiters were very professional. Didn't try any of the food, but really enjoyed stopping in for a... More

My family and I had high tea here over the holidays. The space is as beautiful as ever. The 'tea experience" was fine but given its reputation, I expected more. The servers were somewhat aloof (and slow). The food was fine but not particular special. And, call me old-fashioned, but I expected loose tea and not tea bags. It was... More

I had been here once before 5 yrs ago and was underwhelmed then, however, I read a review recommending it for afternoon tea and booked a table as a treat for a younger family member. The setting is lovely, the service was good, they accommodated dietary requirements, the sandwiches were varied with several different bread, BUT the cakes and scones... More

I booked this for a special afternoon Tea on Boxing day and thought my girlfriend and i would be in for a real treat especially with the history of this restaurant and the price of $85 per person for Champagne afternoon tea.The service was very slow from the start and i got the feeling the waiters were in short supply... So, the Russian Tea Room is one of those bucket list New York experiences - you should go at least once. The decor of the place is amazing - very nice. We decided to go for Afternoon Tea on New Year's Day, which is a meal of an actual pot of tea, some savory sandwiches/salads, and sweets - which costs... More

Worth going to once. Not very busy at 12:45. People seem to come later for high tea. Large staff but spotty service. Asked if we wanted more bread we said yes and they took our bread plates away. Communication issues. We had to push our empty cocktail glasses to the edge of the table to get their attention. Maybe should... More

This was our 2nd visit to the Russian Tea Rooms. It is a small room but beautiful. We called in for a pre dinner drink and oh my goodness, My friend ordered a cocktail and I ordered a vodka. My drink was almost a full glass of neat vodka. I had to ask for lemonade (sprite), so I could drink... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
