We ate only vegetarian dishes. Daal makhani was good. Kheer and gulabjamun were good too. But pakoras were very oily.

Yesterday was Sunday and I booked the buffet lunch for 5. Our 2 guests were American and we thought we would take them out to an Indian meal. We were seated politely, but that was almost it. The food was pretty awful, some of it...More

Midtown location. Made reservations on OpenTable. This is a neighborhood go to for me. We were seated right away. The pappads come gratis with a tamarind and mint sauce. The main dishes come with rice. We had saag paneer which was really good. The chicken...More

I've ordered Delivery from this place for a couple of years and have generally been well satisfied. The other night I was walking by after a cocktail party, about 8 p.m., and decided to go in for the first time for a light supper. It...More

We really enjoyed our meal here - we ate very late as we'd only just arrived in the city but the food tasted as fresh as it would have at the start of the evening. Popular with locals too.

It states fine dining and they hand you the plates to put them in front of you. The sodas are flat and with no ice.

Great food and good service. Reasonably priced for New York. Lots of options for chicken, seafood, lamb and beef.

I really liked how we were treated by the waiter/manager. We sat on the bar counter and they made sure we're comfortable. They served us food on the counter itself. They were also serving Old Monk which you don't usually get in the US. The...More

There is a lot of variety on the buffet and several kinds of bread. Neither my memory nor my knowledge of Indian food serves to be more specific.

Description
Darbar Indian restaurant has a prime location in midtown Manhattan, right in the heart of New York City, and is a superb choice for authentic Indian food and ambiance. Besides the traditional korma and tandoori preparations, the kitchen experiments with trans-ethnic fusion dishes like Maine crab cakes, and potato croquettes stuffed with goat cheese. Make sure to take advantage of the lunch buffet special, with seafood, lamb or goat, chicken, vegetables, salads and much more.
