The cookies at Levain bakery are worth the walk, subway ride, cab ride, uber etc... Please make your way to this bakery. The workers are friendly and efficient! Can't wait to go back and try something else in addition to another chocolate chip walnut cookie!

Oh what a gem......... I saw this bakery advertised on Facebook and thought the cookies looked delicious, let me tell you they were. My wife and I tried all flavours and enjoyed them all equally. My advise take a taxi and enjoy these truly unique cookies from one of the greatest cities in the world.

First I don't want this to be a really negative review. This was a cute place. The service was really good. The cookie and baguette were good as well. I think it is over rated because it is voted up to the top 2 spots in NYC for eating. All the hype and reviews I think built up my expectations... More

Levain really succeeded in trying to make the best chocolate chip cookie ever. I heated my cookies up when I got home for 10 seconds and it was like they just came out of the oven again. The double chocolate peanut butter cookie is my favorite. The only downside to Levain's cookies is that if you are allergic to nuts,... More

Loved the double chocolate chip cookie! My mom loved the oatmeal raisin as well. We split our cookies and were really happy the line was short.

Best cookies I've ever had in my entire life? Maybe not. But they were still pretty good. The cookies are huge! But not large in diameter...they are super thick and dense. My favorite was the chocolate peanut butter but they were all pretty good. The cookie shop is very small, just the ordering counter and a small counter to stand... More

My son suggested to try this particular bakery. I like the chocolate chip cookie with walnuts. Inside so moist. Second best would be the dark chocolate cookie. Tried their rolls too. It was divine, we visited both branches and I should say the queue at 74th is quite long esp after the NY marathon. Cookie cost $4@ and the roll... More

The cookies are huge and usually so is the line! However, everything is amazing and definitely worth the wait! I suggest getting the chocolate chip walnut or the double chocolate chip! They're served warm so make sure you grab a milk, water, or coffee to wash it down with!

Thank Melina G

Nestled in New York City's Upper West Side, Levain headquarters is a cozy neighborhood bakery where locals are greeted by name. A steady stream of loyal regulars stand side by side with tourists, eager to sample the legendary baked goods. From an inventive array of rustic breads to the world-famous six-ounce chocolate chip walnut cookie, everything is baked on-site, fresh every day from the finest natural ingredients. What doesn't sell that day goes to help feed the hungry-a mission that has been solidly in place since the beginning. The bakery was founded in 1994 by friends Connie McDonald and Pam Weekes. At the time, Connie was in banking and Pam in Fashion. The two, both competitive swimmers, trained together for the Ironman and-not surprisingly, as their tireless workouts left them feeling starved for great food- they began a passionate dialog about creating the world's greatest chocolate chip cookie. Within just a few years, Levain Bakery had become a neighborhood institution and a destination for epicurious travelers from around the world. Demand continued to grow. In 2000, to satisfy their regular clientele summering in the Hamptons, the two opened a second bakery in the village of Wainscott on Long Island's East End. And today, through their website, they now ship their world-famous cookies to happy fans around the globe.
