When Fat Cat is packed, good luck. It's not a fun place. No seating, no games, and a super crowded entrance and bar. If there's a line forming, do yourself a favor, save your cover and go elsewhere.

Really enjoyed our evening here. Heard a group with a Brazilian drummer and outstanding sax/flute player. Fun vibe..unpretentious and a place to stay all evening.

We met up with some friends who go to Fat Cat regularly and absolutely loved it. Chilled out, cool vibe going on. Heaps to do. Friendly people. Great live music. Booths to spread out and have a great chat with your mates. Great beer choices, amazing cider. Will definitely go back. A real highlight.

I came here once on a Friday night with an old friend from college. This place had a bar as well as pool tables available. If you wanted a pool table, you get a number and then you have to wait. The wait time was extremely long since it was a Friday night. We were waiting over an hour and... More

I love this place! Live Jazz music and cheap drinks. Billiard , ping pong, and the foot ball game etc Super fun game time! If you wanna get drinks, listen to some awesome music, and have fun playing games with your friends, this is the place to go!

Eh beers, eh place, eh pool tables, eh ping point tables, dirty as hell.. music? More like everyone bang on your instruments and make noise. Almost.

I went to Fat Cat primarily for a jazz concert, but really enjoyed the broad beer selection and the great games. While it takes a while to get on the tables for pool or ping pong, it's not too hard to get on shuffleboard or some of the others. A great night of drinking and games.

This bar is pretty awesome, reasonably priced drinks, a few little snacks you can buy and lots of games you can play. It's dark and underground and doesn't feel Manhattan-y. They had live jazz playing while we were there which was cool. There is a bunch of pool tables and ping pong tables and you can rent games like chess,... More

Cool spot! This place has the feel of your one cool friends house. Remember going straight to the fridge then taking your drink over to his game room where you shot a crappy game of pool, or played table tennis for hours? This is it! As we walked in a nice jazz tune was being played live. I loved it.... More

The beer was good, met new people, very friendly atmosphere. Would definitely go again!! Had fun playing scrabble and hearing the live music! Definitely a change if pace in the bar scene compared to my small town in Iowa!

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
