Unfortunately the quality of food here has really gone downhill. A recent visit proved that they can’t get the basics right; no bread is available , An omelette was almost raw, no one came to ask about the food. The prices are higher than anywhere...in the whole neighborhood. Spare yourself a bad meal and go to another venue!More

Market Table is a local gem! This is one of those restaurants that we all have in our neighborhoods that we make a habit of going again and again. It's one of those consistent performers where you can take your friends and know that they...will be fed well and treated well. This is not a "me too" restaurant that serves "Fried Calamari" or "Clam Chowder". There food is meticulously prepared and well presented using high quality "farm to table" ingredients. I also like the fact that I see the same servers over and over again. The waitstaff is consistent and knowledgeable about the ingredients in all of the dishes and cocktails. The host, Pam, always greets us (and every other customer) with a huge smile of recognition. We love this place and you will to. It's worth noting that Market Table is part of a restaurant group that includes The Clam, Little Owl and the Mary Lane (among others). These are all really good restaurants, but my local favorite is Market Table.More

Great location on Manhattan. Very friendly staff, great food and a decent selection of wines. One of these smaller, cosy places that one should always try and visit when in New York.

Fantastic food and ambiance - loved the vibe fr the moment we walked into the restaurant - the maître d’ i guess could not have been more cordial - wait staff, everyone of them, was helpful and knowledgeable about the dishes. And every dish was...beautiful and well prepared. Couldn’t have had a more enjoyable eveningMore

Went here for brunch this morning with friends, and the food was just not good. There was inedible paper and some sort of inedible pit (an olive pit maybe?) in my breakfast tacos, and despite telling the waitress, they left the $16 tacos on the...bill. Also, the waffle was soggy and very basic. 2 stars for the atmosphere, but that’s about it. Would not recommend, there are so many other great places to eat in NYC. This one doesn’t cut it.More

Location - convenient village location , easy to find Service - pleasant , efficient Food - very good . I sampled a few appetizers, which were all good . I especially loved the crudo - the fish tasted very fresh . For main , I...had the grilled halibut which was very very good . My partner’s steak tasted really good too . The only criticism I have is that the menu is not very creative / original. But the food was excellent and tasty .More

Wow! This restaurant was A-MA-ZING. We ate outside and the ambiance was nice and the Greenwich Village energy was fun. The wait staff was top-notch, and our waiter made great wine recommendations. We started with the salmon tartare, which was a special. Two thumbs up!...I had the salmon with pea risotto and it was out of this world! The risotto was just delicious and I loved the pickled radish. I can't recommend this dish enough! My husband had the rack of lamb, and absolutely loved it! The cucumber salad with its acidity nicely balanced the richness of the lamb. We ended with the almond olive oil cake (which was brought to our table by the chef) and it was also delicious. These dishes, with two glasses of wine, were @$160, without tip. We would definitely go back here and would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting NYC!More

Service was great, most of the staff was on point, food was amazing and my server even helped me debone my fish at the table. but I noticed the host or manager barking at some of the staff serving. one server looking distressed and uncomfortable....im really attune to stress and vibes and just got a bad feeling from that manager, she was friendly at face value.More

The food (as one would expect for the $) is mostly great. The wait staff was attentive at first but then dropped the ball after the entrees were served, never asking how the food was. There were four of us and we each had a...different entree and app. The chicken was amazing, and everything else was very good, but here's the problem: I ordered the whole branzino, which was Sicilian style, meaning garlic, of course. But the garlic overwhelmed the golden raisins and escarole/fennel. The worst part however was that when I ordered I was warned that there would be bones. Fine, I can filet my own fish. BUT the restaurant was so darn dark (one of my pet peeves) that I could in no way see my fish to do so. I got a bone in my throat, as did my son, since we shared bites. If you're going make patrons do their own filleting (at $36) You should make sure the lighting accommodates that.More

While we had read the reviews, we were still pleasantly surprised by the innovative and tasteful creations. It has been a long time since I have had duck breast that was prepared so well with an explosion of different tasty additions... like nuts, sauces and...fresh herbs. The halibut was equally great and my wife really liked her dishes as well. Will definitely be back once it gets warmer.....More

Where to start! Offerings were plentiful but most importantly Derek told us ahead of time "leave room for dessert!" Glad we did, but before we got there we were treated to a savory & well presented dinner. I'll only speak for myself. My salmon was...perfectly portioned, but it was the bed of mashed potatoes, cranberry, nuts and spinach that caught my taste buds by surprise! After dinner drink (smoked rum, cream & cinnamon) really helped set up the rest of the evening. Mexcal infused hot cocoa with HEAVY whipped cream was a dessert unto itself. Staff was more than attentive even as those with an reservations kept coming in droves. Ive already gone beyond my original intentions, but they deserve it! So pick up the phone and reserve your table and tell me it wasn't a dream.More

We had an opportunity to go to this restaurant with friends last night. Walking in one has just a very warm feeling because of the subdued lighting and the wonderful textures around us. The servers are all just terrific. They’re very warm, helpful, and attentive....They also have a gentle sense of humor which is very enjoyable. The choice of drinks is excellent. My guest enjoyed a wonderful pear cider from France which was light, not sweet, and very refreshing. The wine list offered some interesting choices. The dinner menu was lovely. It was difficult to choose but interestingly three of us picked the crispy chicken which is basically a deboned chicken with the most amazing crispy skin. The serving is very generous. Chicken was served on a bed of roasted sweet potatoes bok choy with hazelnut beurre blanc. A terrific combination! A salmon dish was also enjoyed. We ordered sides which were all well-prepared-al dente and creative! We recommend this wonderful restaurant-a jewel in the neighborhood!More

We spent 5 nights in NYC and usually ended up in west village for one reason or another, once without a reservation for dinner. We walked past this neighborhood gem and noticed tables full and figured we'd try and get in for dinner. Host and...staff extremely accomodating. Each entree was better than the next; we split the the whole fish- cooked to perfection. Excellent wine selection. Exceptional bar tender and service all around.More

We so enjoyed Market Table; The location was wonderful. This restaurant is on the corner with large floor to ceiling windows. Then if you couple the food with the ambiance and add the fabulous wait staff you end up with the perfect evening out.

Not aware of any specific dress code, but I can say that in observing the clientele, all were dressed in slacks and shirts. I did not see any jeans or shorts. It's a nice place and I would treat it accordingly.
