The restaurant probably charges the highest prices of any of the remaining Kosher deli's in New York City. The sandwiches are big the taste is great, service was fast cause it was empty when we went. Times have changes tho - when you used to sit down they would put a tray of passorted pickles and pickled products along with... More

For Jewish food lovers and others. The gerkins can be bitter, the draught beer is very good, but it's a bit on the expensive side.

You are in NYC and you want it right - the full Jewish deli experience - the soup, the pickles the pastrami. This is the real deal - at lunch time come before 11:45 to avoid a wait and be open to sitting at the counter.

Had lunch here twice during a week's visit to NYC. The crowded dining room is evidence of the restaurant's excellence.

Our first Jewish deli experience but won't be our last. The service was outstanding and the food was great. My husband's sandwich was so big he had to eat it in two stages:) I had the special, Hungarian ghoulash, and recommend it highly.

What a find this was. Deep in the heart of Manhattan's East Side Jewish Quarter - & well off the beaten track - 2nd Avenue Deli is worth searching out. Their food is fantastic. This historic, renowned, traditional Jewish Deli really does offer the real deal. We shared a MASSIVE Pastrami sandwich - complete with dill pickles, coleslaw and Dijon... More

This is a nice place but we found prices to be too high. Food is good but not excellent. My lean brisket was not very lean.

A year ago, I saw an episode of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee in which Seinfeld goes to lunch with Jim Gaffigan. Supposedly, pastrami is Gaffigan's favorite thing to eat and 2nd Ave Deli is his favorite place to eat it. I don't know if that's true, but it was enough to pique my interest and go. I'm so glad... We visited the Deli on a Saturday for lunch,it's right around the corner from the Dumont Hotel. The soup and pastrami sandwich were great. You also get pickles and coleslaw with the lunch. Pricey but worth it.

Thank frcia

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown.
