My wife and I loved the atmosphere, the service, the wine, and the food. A small, intimate restaurant. We had a reservation and we were glad we did. We chose to have our 5th anniversary dinner here and we were not disappointed.

I was visiting NY for a business trip and was invited by a special friend with his family for dinner. The place is small and cozy at the seaport area. We had different salad dishes for first courses, all were fresh and tasty, the cheese and the dressing were terrific. We picked up a bottle of Rossi di Multalcino, very... More

We were a party of 6 hungry females wandering around South Street Seaport and stumbled upon this restaurant primarily because it was so busy (seemed to the busiest restaurant in the area). And now we know why . . . . the food is excellent! We ordered calamari, three pizzas and a pasta dish. Not a crumb was left! There... More

I've been here 3 times and never had a bad meal. I particularly like the veal saltimbuco. The meat plate as an appetizer is also excellent. The only downside is that is a small place, and can get a bit noisy when it is full. Nonetheless, it is a good value given NYC.

Ate here before a performance at PACE university. everyone was impressed with the service and the warmth of our greeting. Tables are close together but the restaurant did not become too noisy. The pastas we ate were all terrific (carbonara, clam sauce, and a baked pasta with sausage and cheese) and worth coming back for. Portions are generous. The negatives... More

Warm welcome and excellent service. Intimate small restaurant that is why chains should be avoided. We visited 4 times during our visit to New York and thoroughly enjoyed each. As a family of vegetarians and meat eaters it is important we are all catered for, and Il Brigante did that! Will definitely return ❤👍

We arrived hungry in NYC after a long flight and luckily found this cosy Italian not far from our hotel. My swordfish tasted great, the pizzas were excellent too and the red Italian wine, although quite pricey, like most alcoholic drinks in Manhattan, was great! Excellent and very prompt service, a rather nice experience overall.

Lorenzo and staff are great - but the food is outstanding. The homemade gnocchi is divine, my friends had seafood dishes that were good - but my fish was outstanding.

I just had a small dinner with pizza, beer and coffee, but everything was good and that's saying something because for an Italian pizza and espresso are more like a religion. I was more impressed by the espresso of all things.

Booked this restaurant from the UK purely on the reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. Very warm welcome from the host (owner?) who took a real interest in us and what we were doing in New York. All the dishes we ordered were tasty and well presented, service was very efficient and there is a really nice... More
