The food and service were hit and miss. My chicken was delicious but my husband’s fish was over cooked. My asparagus was so bitter I couldn’t eat it and since the waitress never checked on us after bringing the food, it wasn’t until we were...More

We spent a nice luncheon at A & E. Taffy was served before we ordered. Our waiter brought water for her before we could even ask for it. He explained some interesting specials which we took advantage of: potato garlic soup and chef salad. I...More

Chef Jim and Donna offer amazing food, tremendous hospitality and warmth in a quirky, fun restaurant. Everything is fresh, real food; tasty with unique presentation. My spouse and I have eaten at Arts & Eats many times since we moved to the area a couple...More

Quirky atmosphere, a little loud once it filled up. Hummus was good, cauliflower appetizer tasty but the portion was very small. Crab salad was sweating when served, meaning it was pre-made. Dressing was flavorless and I suspect by the amount of crab is really was...More

The crabmeat we serve at Arts & Eats is the best quaility you can find anywhere without catching it yourself. It is certainly NOT artificial crab...and yes we are very generous with the portion. We would never serve a substitute for the real thing here....More

Chef Jim Copening is an artist in the kitchen. The Fried Parmesian Rice Balls were outstanding. I shared my Truffled Crab, Shrimp and fresh pasta with my wife, who liked my dish more than her Paella. I thought my dish was excellent and her Paella...More

Fresh ingredients and an honest attempt at creative cuisine. Bread was disappointing, home made.....probably yesterday, and toasted to mimic freshness. My husband enjoyed the fried chicken, my $33 seafood pasta was ok. The whole experience felt honest but amateur. And yes, fairly expensive for what...More

yes -- we don't add seasonings to most of our proteins until they're ordered. Just tell the server that you want no salt in the preparation. Thanks!

The food is individually prepared so I think they could accommodate a low sodium request. Call first and ask.

Description
Arts & Eats Restaurant and Gallery, located in the center of the Village of the Arts in Bradenton, Florida, features an international menu created by Chef Jim Copening, and broken dish mosaics and jewelry by Donna Slawsky. Dine on the enclosed porch or main dining room of the newly remodeled 1920s bungalow, on the front lawn, or in the shaded backyard "park" graced by a huge banyan tree. Donna and Jim have created a colorful restaurant and gallery that is casually elegant with an emphasis on great food, international flavors and lots of love. We also cater events.
