The place is beautiful and we felt fortunate to get reservations on graduation weekend. Then the service was spotty and the menu was way too limited. Some in our party we're happy, but still not sure we'll return.

The historic Hotel Bethlehem is a fantastic architectural piece of Bethlehem. It is continuously beautifully decorated and a pleasure to visit. The Tap Room bar off the lobby has light fare and entertainment, some evenings. 1741 on the Terrace offers fine dining in a lovely...More

The 1741, located in the Historic Bethlehem Hotel on Main street, is not to be missed. Huge main room with Moravian tile floors (which apparently were discovered only recently during their renovations and after they removed the carpeting) and floor to ceiling windows. The menu...More

The interior of this restaurant is beautiful and speaks to the historic attractiveness of the hotel. It has about 20 tables(not all filled) and, the night we went, 3 wait staff (and 2 managers?) They seemed frazzled (which I really don't get) super friendly but...More

This was our 3rd Christmas Eve dinner in the 1741 room. The hotel and the dinning room were decorated exquisitely. The food was just average. Our food was mediocre and a bit on the cold side and we were disappointed in the service. It was...More

Both service and food were excellent....the atmosphere was warm and inviting....like being in Victorian times. The hotel also has a lovely gift shop with fabulous items.

We celebrated our Holiday Family Day at the Historic Hotel Bethlehem yesterday. It was outstanding on every single level. Simply put, the food, service and ambiance were all magnificent. A special treat for the youngest member of our family (aged 6) who enjoyed being the...More

The room and location are wonderful. We dined on a Saturday during the heart of Bethlehem's Christmas season, and were glad we had reserved weeks in advance. It's a famed hotel with many private events going on, and I feared it would suffer the "hotel...More

You have the answer to your question about size. I would also add that if it is ambience you are looking for, little beats the Terrace. While it is part of the hotel, it does not feel that way. There are large windows, tile... More

Description
It is the desire of 1741 on the Terrace to engage you and invite you. Try something new or revisit something familiar; but above all, enjoy. Relax in the ambiance of the room, with its beautiful Moravian tile floor and soaring Palladian windows. Admire the charm of downtown Bethlehem with buildings and history dating back to 1741 when the town itself was founded. The menu changes seasonally, with locally-inspired dishes by Executive Chef Michael Adams. The wine list is extensive -- with many exciting options from America and around the world. Our experienced servers are also available to aid in your wine selection or suggest custom pairings to the menu items upon request.
