Visited this restaurant after my twin sons graduated from medical school. Base on trip advisor ratings, we were not disappointed. Must have reservations. Although noisy, it is a very pleasant ambiance. Service was excellent and our waitress was well educated regarding the menu. Appetizers were...More

They have this special choice where all three courses are made from different parts of the animal, in my case fish! Starter, pasta and then delicious fish. Really a true treat. And great ambience in the restaurant

Amos is fantastic- we had brunch Sunday 5/27 and it was immensely wonderful in all ways- and the coffee cake with chocolate infused at the end was a fitting way to finish this great Meal. Impeccable service and chef prepared food by the gregarious Andrew....More

Giving this an average rating even though the hostess and waitstaff were very good. Had the sweetbreads with artichoke and lemon. While tasty, there were only a few very small pieces of sweetbreads and it was mostly artichoke on the plate. We also had the...More

I have eaten in a lot of Italian restaurants in the US and in Italy, and Amis has to rank as one of the best trattoria in the US. The cooking follows the trattoria golden rule: use fresh local ingredients in simple but honest food....More

We spent a weekend in Philly recently with our adult children. We happened upon this restaurant as we were walking around the neighborhood. Have to say, it was a great choice. The atmosphere, food, wine and service were terrific. In particular, our server Sarah, was...More

I've been here twice for dinner and it's OK. I think the menu is a bit confused, they might be still trying to figure out the tastes of their clients. I like the atmosphere, nice large bar downstairs and some high tale seating but I...More

Second visit for me. I had the Swordfish meatballs again. Very good flavor. Nice atmosphere, although the music choice is a bit odd for a quieter place. Good service.

I have a theory that the best food in most restaurants is on the appetizer list. This is where the chefs get to show off their creativity separate from the need to stuff the entree list with categorical proteins (the steak plate, the Catch of...More

Food was extraordinary. We started with wine and an appetizer. It took a while to read over the menu, not because it was large, because there were so many choices. They all seemed like good choices. We chose two different bruschetta one was mortadella mouse...More

Description
Amis brings the quintessential Roman-style trattoria to Philadelphia’s Center City neighborhood. Opened in 2010 by Vetri Family partners Jeff Benjamin and Chefs Marc Vetri, Brad Spence and Jeff Michaud, Amis has cemented its place as one of the city’s premier dining destinations, garnering high praise from such publications as the Philadelphia Inquirer (three-out-of-four-bells) and Bon Appetit magazine (“Top 10 Places for Pasta in the U.S.”), and from the crowds of regular guests who pack its dining room nightly for dinner and weekends for brunch. Lively, comfortable and convivial, dining at Amis is perfect for a variety of occasions, boasting a share-plates menu of house-made pasta, salumi, farm-fresh meats and peak seasonal vegetable dishes, perfect for sharing while celebrating with friends and family, or a meal out with someone special. Be sure to ask about our “Beast of Amis” menu too. These special dishes feature whole animals—birds, hogs, fish and even full sides of beef.
