Very delicious, very authentic to Cajun food. It's a great place to stop by if you are in the area. I try to do so every year.

Went for a quick appetizer while at the Reading Terminal Market. Tried the fried mac & cheese balls...Very good. Gotta eat them while they are hot! I don't think you can eat too many of these...but definitely worth sharing with a group!

Our first day in Philly we decided we’d hit Reading Terminal Market for a late lunch early dinner. We condensed our list of places we definitely wanted to eat at from all of them LOL to our top 5…Becks was on the list. Unfortunately we were disappointed w/ Becks. After reading all the reviews I was expecting their food to... More

Thank you for your review and I'm disappointed too. I'm hoping if you are still in town you'll stop by one more time and let us make it up to you. Please ask for Chef Bill Beck or Kimber. I'm the Executive Chef and Owner and Kimber is my daughter. More

I have eaten here three times. Once for breakfast when I had a Po Boy breakfast sandwich. This was a good breakfast, filling and well priced. Based on that I returned twice for dinner, once for gumbo and once for étouffée. In both cases I was served a bowl containing a generous portion of rice with a barely minimal scoop... More

Next time you visit please request light rice and heavy on the gumbo. Each customer likes their gumbo a certain way. We'd love to prepare your gumbo the way you like to eat it. More

While in the Reading Market, we decided to stop at Beck's Cajun Cafe for some bread pudding with Whisky Sauce. This was one of the best that I have tasted outside of New Orleans. The pudding was the right consistency and the sauce tasted great. We just wanted one to share but they had a special, buy one the other... More

If the gator gumbo is any indication of quality of food at this cafe, then it is a must go place. The gumbo was outstanding; just hot enough with the right amount of spices, rice, vegetables and of course, alligator. There was plenty of alligator in the dish and it was cooked perfectly. (Gator is an easy meat to over... More

I love this place and never pass on a chance to eat here. Their food is as authentic to New Orleans as there can be. Get the Train Wreck Po'Boy and you won't regret it. Made with steak, andouille, salami and cheese with a Cajun aioli. Best sandwich ever made.

This restaurant is located in the Reading Terminal Market. If you like these kinds of markets; and hear I'm thinking about St. George's Market in Belfast (Northern Ireland), Oxford's Covered Market (England) and Minneapolis's Midtown Global Market; then you are going to love the atmosphere at Beck's Cajun Cafe. Wonderful aromas of diverse cuisines and many casual dining options, this... More

I ordered the seafood gumbo with white rice. My friend had the same over seasoned rice. You don't need the seasoned rice. I recommend white because the gumbo itself has plenty of flavor and it is spicy so have your water nearby. The cornbread was delicious too. And don't even get me started on the macaroni and cheese balls. Diet... More
