This place had great pizza and garlic knots! It is very close to the historic area, and was open late, so convenient to our hotel. I would definitely go back for another slice of their thin, yummy pizza!

We had food delivered to our hotel. It was quick, hot and fresh. The prices were fair. We tried to calzone, pizza and a cheese steak. Aside from being far more food than we could eat, it was very good.
We are new to Philadelphia from DC and are still looking for a favorite pizza spot. We like Gianfranco's. The crust is sufficiently thick and with extra cheese and pepperoni we like it. We do find it a tad salty, which seems to be all too common among the local pizzerias. Services is good and orders are produced promptly. New... More
Gianfranco is one of those hole-ion-the-wall deli/restaurants that make Phialdephia a gustatorial delight. The pizza steak (cheesesteak w/ pizza sauce - my favorite Philly food) was good but not spectacular. Yest good enough that I hated to leave Philly again. The bread is fresh and very good. The sauce is tasty with just enough spice, and the beef is not... More
Just love their pizza! Best pizza joint in Philly in my opinion....sicillian pizza is insanely good, just allow 45 minutes for the preparation/cooking
We had been walking in the area after visiting the Liberty Bell and decided to stop in for a few slices of pizza. As we approached, a gentleman there helped us get our stroller up a few steps at the front door, and it only got better from there. Everyone inside was just as friendly, and the pizza was some... I was unaware that Philly had it's own style of pizza. Thin crust with thick toppings is the fare. Since we wanted to try it, I figured I better check out TA for options near our hotel. So glad we went to Gianfranco! It's a very small cafe-type pizzeria (mostly carryout) with a few high tables, seating for about ten.... More
This place was recommended by a local which was good because it's literally a hole in the wall and I would not have eaten here otherwise. That being said I am very glad that we did go here because their pizza was delicious. We liked it so much that we came back a second time during our visit in Philadelphia.... More
I was warned about the violence in Philadelphia. I did not want to venture outside the hotel to a local restaurant so I looked online for the best delivery pizza in the area. I read positive reviews about the pizza from Gianfranco. I called and ordered a large pizza to my hotel total $22. I got a call 8 minutes... More
