Went on a Thursday night. It was bustling with people! Popular with the college crowd. Don't expect seats. Had a couple of Margaritas which was quite nice.

I must say their menu was very comprehensive and had something for everyone. The place was dimly lit with chilli shaped lights. It is a decent casual dining. They had lots of foot fall and they were managing it well. The serving portion was big enough for one person. I tried chicken Fajitas and I was totally full with no... More

We came to Philadelphia to do a college tour. Mad Mex is within walking distance of our hotel (good news), but very hard to find (behind CVS pharmacy down an alley). It Chen was a bit slow, but the food is really good. Place was pretty packed for a Tuesday. 20 beers on tap! Worth a visit.

We tried this place because it was close to the Palestra at U Penn. The food was very good...fresh guac, flavourful salsas, interesting entrees. We were there during happy hour, so the margaritas were very reasonably priced. The crowd was mostly students. Our server was very friendly and we never felt rushed. Would go back if we were attending another... More

I went with a friend for lunch in December and it was packed. The restaurant is large and finding it is not easy. I tt is not 3401 Walnut it is behind that building. We had an appetizer with three different dips that was good. The burrito I had was huge and I could only have a few bites and... More

This place has good bar food. This is by no mean fine cuisine but you'll enjoy the wings, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and everything else on the menu. They also have a good beer selection. This spot is good for lunch and happy hour. The service is sometimes slow, it's a hit or miss, but if you are in good company... More

I have loved this restaurant for years, but my most recent visit was a real bummer for service. I was in a party of two on a Friday during lunch time and waited about an hour between ordering and getting our food. So by the time we got the food, I was so hungry!! The food was pretty good, but... More

I used Trip Advisor to find a place to grab a quick lunch while in the University City area. Mad Mex was a little tricky to find(down a side ally, not on Walnut St.) but we made it.My first impression? My feet were sticking to the floor. Seriously sticking to the floor. Not a good sign of cleanliness. Nonetheless, we... More
