The fresh and tasty deluxe sashimi platter and an eel on eel roll was plenty food for 2 of us (women, not big hungry guys!). Our order came with one salad and one soup, and an order of rice. Our waitress brought us an ice bucket for the saki which was recommended to be slightly chilled. This place was busy... More

Makiman Sushi is a small restaurant with a creative master sushi chef. We met another couple there and they had already approached the owner/chef about our evening's meal. Appetizers, sashimi, rolls, teriyaki chicken and dessert were all beautifully prepared and tasted outstanding! Sure, I have a few favorites and I tried some new pieces that were simply amazing. If you're... More

I love this byob restaurant. The setting is very quaint with dim lighting and the menu is awesome. They serve made to order original sushi such a the ex boyfriend, sixers, and the ex girlfriend rolls to name a few. They are all scrumptious, as is the salad with ginger dressing( I suggest to get it on the side) and... More

Decent sushi considering the relatively cheap price. Easily fed 4 people for about 60$ (not including tip). Nice range of sushi types, not just the regular mall fare.

We needed a place for lunch after our trip to the Ryerss Museum and Libary, and we happened upon Makiman Sushi. The $9.95 lunch special with two rolls and either soup or salad was an excellent value, considering the choices of rolls included in the special. Spicy yellowtail, spicy white tuna, and yellowtail avocado were three such interesting and extremely... More

We stop by Makiman for lunch or dinner at least once a month. The restaurant is not very big, so it gives it a romantic and cozy feel. We love the sushi/sashimi combo, it's fresh and a great value. The teriyaki chicken is great as well, it comes sizzling on a hot plate and the chicken is on top of... More

The place is modest sized and simple but the fare was fresh, nice and moderately priced. I visited the restaurant twice and had the sushi / sashimi deluxe combo and the unagi stone pot and wasn't disappointed on either occassion. Would recommend a visit.

The fish is always tasty and fresh. A few times they have been out of Toro or Ikura, two of my staples, but I appreciate that they aren't willing to sell sub-par seafood. The fusion rolls are very interesting and seem to be well thought out. I love the atmosphere here, it is perfect for date night but also great... More

A great little Japanese sushi house, byo; friendly staff, clean, close to Kimmel, Academy. Have been in several times for pre-theater dinner, never disappointed.

I have been here many times for business lunches or to meet up with friends. The atmosphere is nice, the staff is okay, the place is clean. The prices are reasonable. Lunch specials are comparable to other Japanese restaurants in the area.
