We ate lunch here and were interested in doing some shopping as well. From the description it talked like there was more here than simply food. There is not. If you want to buy food to take home, this is the place. If you are looking other things, go to a mall or the market around city hall.

Great place to pick up some fruits and vegetables and bakery items, meat or small goods, a snack or full lunch. The place is busy. Highly recommended is are the gourmet icecreams from Bassetts Icecream, a fifth-generation family business and a Philadelphia tradition since 1861. They have lots of exciting flavours which change regularly. Big serves! Friends brought some lovely... More

A wonderful, variety of an array of foods. Truly something for everyone. Excellent kosher deli, doughnuts, cheese steaks, cookies, coffee, you name it. Be ready for crowds though.

You must visit the Reading terminal market if you are in Philadelphia. There's a wide array of foods, convenient seating (not fancy), convenient location-it must be seen. There are numerous eateries but also food vendors – butchers, fish markets, green grocers and specialties.
