The cheesesteak was good, but it wasn't groundbreaking, "I'm going to tell people about this" level. It's grilled up fresh by order, comes out piping hot, layered with cheese whiz and whatever toppings you want (you can also order it with different cheeses). The interior of this place is a bit of a throwback, old school diner feel - it... More

Eight of us waited 40 minutes around the block, ordered sandwiches, waited more, got the stuff, went upstairs to the main"dining hall," which is still 1950s style dilapidated and cluttered. When the waiting is validated by the quality or taste of the food, you can feel good even as you regret the time loss. When the food is a non-event,... More

Great steak. Love how they chop it up into manageable bites. Not crazy nasty like the crazy guys downtown.

Had a couple of Cheese Steaks here in my visit to Philly. They were good quality. As a visitor to Philly I tried quite number whilst in town and would rate this place at the top end of those I tried. Well worth a visit and probably better than some of the more "name" places. Good service and plenty of... More

It's been a while since I stopped here, but decided it was worth a stop on the way home from Philly. The place looked deserted, as they were doing work and had a bunch of lights off. They were open, however, so we went in and ordered a couple cheesesteak sandwiches, and they did not disappoint. The bread was fresh... More

Absolutely love this place. Whenever I get into Philly, I make it a point to go to Jim's at least twice. The atmosphere isn't the best but who cares...you've gotta love the cheese steaks. The employees aren't super friendly but, again, who cares since it's the food that matters.

So just wanting to try out another cheese steak place, stopped at jims. It's pretty good but not as good as pats. Good bun but cheese was less. Still pretty good though.

Walked in. Watched the cook hold the bread and rub it on his dirty apron a few times. Walked out. Sanitary practices are obviously optional here.

I freaking LOVE this place! Me and my boyfriend have been going to this location since high school (2000) !!! our favorite guy knows EXACTLY what we order every single time we go in there. Like VIPS, we are!! Yummy food. Great for hangovers haha! We get extra American cheese and mayo. With cheese fries!! Probably too many calories to... More

I come to Philly once every few months. I have a Jim's cheesesteak every night while in town! Can't go wrong with a steak, american cheese and as many of the grilled onions as they can fit in the sandwich. And, don't forget to get the homemade pepper sauce - out of this world.

Thank khaludi
