The line is always crazy and they only take cash, but it is definitely worth the wait. They have so many flavors to choose from and other sweets besides ice cream. Classic old style place.

Came here on a quick one day trip to Philadelphia and always love coming back! Clearly some of the best ice cream ever. Got a cone with a scoop of coffee ice cream and a scoop of their special flavor red hot cinnamon with peanut butter sauce and it was amazing. My wife wanted to order the cold brew coffee... More

Almost too much. Breyers fan so tough to compare. Very hipster staff, very cool and very nice. Waited about 20 mins at 8:45 on a beauty of a Sat Feb 18th night. When we left line was 2x as long. Had the mint chocolate chip no toppings. Good portions.

We had passed this place a few times in the past prior to our visit but didn't stop due to the huge line. This time we decided to wait in the line. Figured it must be great if everyone is willing to wait, right. Took about 20 minutes to get our order placed. There were about 4 people scooping. They... More

This is an old fashioned soda shop with a huge menu. It is like stepping back in time. I recommend trying the Egg Whip. I have never had anything like it before. Make sure to get it Philly Style!

The day I went they were serving free samples of Campbell's original recipe tomato soup and giving free jars to customers for trying....what a nice touch! Plus the ice cream was fantastic! I had a sugar cone with a small scoop of S'mores ice cream and loved it! My father-in-law had a strawberry sundae and licked the bowl clean, we... More

Summer or Winter, this is a must visit for some amazing ice cream and milkshakes! Try the hot shakes, they have hot brownie or apple pie. Everything is yummy!

I came to this restaurant at the insistence of my significant other because he remembered this ice cream from "Man vs Food" show on the Food Network. There was a line but it moved quickly. I got a milkshake with malt and my boyfriend ordered the Mt.Vesuvius. The order did come out incorrectly and I got this poor man's order... More

Pricey ice cream but at least it was good ice cream. 2 small cones were $5 and $7 dollars (2 bucks extra for a waffle cone). My wife tried the Hydrox, which I believe is a signature flavor. I tried the pumpkin because it was October. Both good but I probably would not be a regular if I lived there.

I especially enjoyed and appreciated their ImPeach Sundai. Ice cream as it should be. Prepare for lines but worth it.
