Right on the road between El Malpais and El Morro National Parks is ANCIENT WAY CAFE - real good stop for lunch and it was easy on the budget, too -- service quick and parking right out front -- nice little menu and tasty

So we were headed back east on a trip back from driving across the country, and we were stopping at various national parks and monuments along the way. We had stayed in a town about 10 miles away for the night, and the coffee shop...More

We had really great meals here. Everything is fresh and organic. All dishes had a bit of twist. They are especially know for their baking so save room for dessert. The highlight was the apple, green chili pie. It was wonderful. I can't recommend this...More

Great food in a very eclectic setting. A must stop on a trip through the area. The baked goods are all made from scratch. The salad dressings are home made.

Stepping into a wonderful and relaxing past, this cafe has real food in a beautiful site and comfort in pretty little cabins. The proximity to scenic El Morro makes it also a great plus. Very friendly atmosphere in a timeless place!

Stop here. If you are on this otherwise uncrowded highway, this is one of the few places to sit and eat and you will not be dissappointed. Extensive menu with food cooked with care and good ingredients. In the summer it must be an oasis....More

Been coming to this area for years and we always eat at the Ancient Way Cafe. Menu changes but whatever is offered is always excellent. Dinners are offered on weekends sometimes, but check first and make sure they add you to the count so enough...More

The Ancient Way Cafe has a nice selection of lunch choices to include vegetarian selections. But the desert selections are fabulous! The wait staff, only one, is courteous and friendly.
