While visiting Astoria with friends, we stopped in the Baked Alaska for lunch. There was plenty of seating, and we were given a table by the window with a view of the Columbia River. Caesar Salads were our food of choice (1 with shrimp, 1 with salmon, and 1 with chicken). They were all very good. It was a very... More

The food was good and the view was great. I enjoyed that atmosphere as well. The only reason I docked a "star" is the restaurant seems slightly pretentious to me. In my opinion they fall short of the class their prices would suggest they possess. The food was artfully displayed and the waitress provided excellent service. The bread was fresh... More

Used other reviews to select this restaurant for our evening meal. Great Choice! Food is good and freshly prepared. Wine pour is generous. Customer service is also excellent. A very nice experience. Give them a try.

Baked Alaska restaurant is built on a pier which thrusts northward from the south bank of the Columbia River as it passes through Astoria, Oregon. It is located next to the Pilot House where the pilots who guide ships across the Columbia Bar are headquartered. The Baked Alaska Restaurant was opened by Alaskan chef Christopher Holen and his wife Jennifer... More

Actually watched a small pod of humpbacks from the main dining room yesterday (not an everyday occurrence). Not only is the food always good here and the views stunning, the owners and staff are professional, friendly, and community-minded. Creative menu and numerous price points (pizza and small plates up to full, elegant dinners).

We have stopped at this restaurant before when we come through Astoria. We've returned each time because of the food, the service & the incredible setting, overlooking the bridge, the ships & the waterway, with sea lions always swimming around nearby. This visit, the service was so incredibly slow, we didn't receive our drinks until after we'd finished our soup.... More
